Hello! I'm trying to use my wiimote as a way to play Peak, the game where you climb the mountains with your friends. I can figure out controls and stuff later, what I'm having trouble with is that if my Wiimote is paired up and on, the game crashes, like immediately. If I have it on before opening the game, the game crashes on startup.

I found it weird and don't really know what's causing it so I thought someone more knowledgeable about the wii/wiimotes/computers would at least be able to tell me if I should give it up or maybe even give me a solution.

Ok, so, my wiimote isn't able to connect properly to windows 10 on its own. I remember maybe 6 years ago it was but that's probably changed with so many windows 10 updates over the years. Now, what I used to pair up the wiimote:

I installed the HID Wiimote drivers by Julian Löhr (really fun concept for a bachelor degree thesis) and then I used wiipair by (iirc) jordanbtucker on github. Then I'm using JoyToKey for games that can't detect wiimotes as controllers. I've tried to open Peak with JoyToKey open and closed, so the problem really does lie with the wiimote's presence.

The only guess I could give (AND I AM IN NO WAY CERTAIN!!!) is that Peak's controller detection detects the wiimote, doesn't know what to do with it, and crashes as soon as its detected.

What do you think, forum users? Feel free to ask for info and I'll do my best to answer.

Edit: Solved, I just had to start up Peak as an administrator.
