Sorry for the misleading title.

As of today I was researching the benefits of having Emulators. And you probably already know what that is; basically I figured because the files needed cannot be ripped, and you have to download them threw a ROM Website. What I'm questioning is because they cannot be downloaded VIA internet (cough piracy, FBI Regulations), how do I rip the legitimate disc to the emulator/sd card legally?

And I understand. User created content on HBC, those games are not illegall due to them being well. Free to download.

Legal-wise, it's generally okay to download games you have purchased in your country (In some places, you can download it and NOT have purchased it, but you must erase it within 24 hours). You'll have to research the laws around your area.
It is considered an act of courtesy to upload extracted ROMs to sites, making it available to those who own the game to edit or play on emulators, but don't have an external reader to read the game from their computer.
Cartridge-based games (GBA/GB(C), (S)NES, Genesis/MD, N64) are read through an external reader, not unlike one of those SD card adapters which allow you to read SD cards on a computer without an SD card slot, except instead of SD cards it's like one you find inside a GBA that reads its games, and it connects to your computer which you use to interpret the data, making it usable for editing or simply extracting.

Went ahead and done so. Nintendo states it's illegal to have a ROM File downloaded on your PC, or any device within 24 hour period. I was a little surprised about this when I had found out that they actually allow you to download it but in a 24 hour period.

Wonder if the Wii heads under the same regulations to be considered piracy. But reguardless avoiding that now;

What would you recommend I use for extracting those types of games? I do have about three SD Cards ready without about 8GB of memory so... I'm thinking an adaptive game card reader would work best, but I just want to know the best method to use.

how do I rip the legitimate disc to the emulator/sd card legally?
what i understand is you want to make a backup of your own wii games?
you can use tools like clean rip or your usb loaders they got an option to copy your disc to your HDD\sd card

about legitimacy...
by having a nintendo or other console you agree that you shall not modificate the console or exploit or use third party tools to bypass the security implemented.. that means even having homebrew channel is against the terms of service and depending on your country laws it is forbidden...

about that 24 hour limit thing... is one of thoose bullshits like in some countries\states prostitution is legal but it's illegal to use the service
or pot\weed, you are allowed to have it in a small quantity but you are forbidden to: buy it, plant it, get it, sell it, acquire it, etc etc..

so...

I'm questioning how to get your legitimate N64 Games, or PS1 etc... Onto a PC. So far USB Loader is the most easiest way since this specificly rips them from the Wii. But what I am more confused on is why the other emulators actually REQUIRE you to have the file present and not the game.

At this rate all I can really say is that the Wii is nothing new when it comes to legal services. It's not illegal to mod your Nintendo Wii since it is not harming anyone (or anything.) It's just used for fun.

Same thing with emulators. And putting files on there. I know for a fact even if you had the legit copy but you downloaded it off of the Internet to get the game anyway that's piracy reguardless so I questioned how do I do so.

I don't even know if USB Loader would even be able to read those other game files tbh since they are outdated past GameCube.

You use a ROM dumper, either via an exploit in the console or a hardware one. N64 ROMs can be dumped with AR/GS carts.

I've never heard of a "24 hour limit". Downloading copyrighted content without permission of the copyright holder is illegal pretty much anywhere. :/

Realized I had misread that slightly. That's my bad.

Well off to extracting the legit games.
So I have these old PS1 Games lying around my house. I do know some people made it possible to play PS1 Games. But I have no idea how they extracted it onto there in the first place. So this is kind of mind bending for me without having to use a present SD Card Transfer. Instead of transfering the full disk onto the PC...

Would I have to burn the disk onto my PC?

That's a false myth. It doesn't matter if you delete it immediately after downloading it, downloading a game is illegal whether you own a copy of the game or not. You don't own the game, you only own a license to use the copy of the game that you purchased, it doesn't extend further than that.
Technically, under the DMCA you aren't even allowed to make copies of your own games if it involves bypassing copy protection. Not sure exactly what counts as bypassing copy protection, one could probably say that due to Wii games only being readable by the Wii and being encrypted on top of that, dumping them requires bypassing copy protection, but that's up to a court to decide in the highly unlikely event that you do get caught.

Managed to find this PS1 Game ripped for putting the files LEGALLY on your Desktop Computer.

Instead of installing it as a CIF on your computer. I believe you will have to install it as a ROM File that way the Wii can read it.

The following tutorial above is for a PS1 Emulator. Not a Wii.
