Help making a DVD

Well heres my story. I have a movie in an AVI file.I'd like to make into a DVD; you know something watchable on my DVD player and with a nice, yet simple menu. Well I'm pretty much clueless here since I never make DVDs. I've always used Windows DVD maker when I had to but I'm sure most of you will agree the program sucks. I'm trying the smart alternative here. So any advice will be more then welcomed here. Thank you tempers.

the best you can find is nero.
Google it.

AShampoo its the best program I know of that will put ANY video file on a DVD and it will work in your DVD player now you could "buy" it or you could resort to everyones old pirating ways and get it for free your choice its kinda expensive so I suggest the second option.

I used Nero and in my opinian it sucks and fills your computer with random crap it wants you to download

DVDfab does heaps not just back up but rip convert even games console video

Oh gosh. I shouldn't post when I'm tired and drunk. Well not really drunk, too young. Just tired, filled to the brim with coffee.
