Its common sense really.... Non legit games wont boot up. I knew that and wasnt even told... Its more of the persons fault for not looking into it more/or all for that matter. No research = brick most of the time.

Disagree, if fact you're just plain wrong. You may consider it common sense but it's obviously not common sense because people are bricking because of this. The person who wrote the guide should have mentioned it and you're a bit lacking in sense for trying to act like he's blameless. Can't have a guide and not mention it, period.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ whatever you say bud. as @vb_encryption_vb has said, he didnt even say what guide he did or if he even followed a guide in the first place. Now if he just read that he could install it and just went ahead and installed a non legit game for a cold boot, then it is HIS fault for not looking into it more. I agree that guides should have all factors in play, but its mostly the persons fault for not researching things at all. I really dont care if you think im wrong in this sense. But if someone jumps into stuff like this not knowing anything and just wings it, I blame them.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

He hasn't specified which guide he has used...so you 2 going back and forth won't settle much, just saying.
And I agree with this as well. Im not trying to start arguments. Just saying how I see it.

I agree that the person who wrote the guide should of mentioned that you need a legit DS VC Game, or you will brick using CBHC.

However, everyone should do as much research as they can when there about to mod a $300 console.

When I first modded my WiiU, I searched google for WiiU homebrew tutorials, and I got sent to here on GBATemp. Even though I read one of the best guides on the net, I still did my research for hours and hours. Hell, it took me days to research everything I could about WiiU modding, and by then I pretty much knew the do's and Don'ts of WiiU modding.

I think everyone that wants to mod any console, should do as much research as they possibly can on the subject, before they do anything on the console.

Well I can guarantee it wasn't my guide. Mine has them run a nand backup 1st thing after they get into HBL. Plus I have so many disclaimers about CBHC I think I scare most people away from it.

Yup. Your guide scared me away from it. Lol. I went with your recommendation, and stuck with just Haxchi as my CFW. Lol

For the record. I love CBHC. I think it's perfectly safe. I just throw all the red writing in there so I don't see one of these threads from a user that followed my guide. I'd hate to be blamed for someone's else's incompetence

Oh I know, I think CBHC is really good too. I just don't want to risk it. I have Haxchi, so when I boot up my WiiU, I just need to run Haxchi once, and I'm all set. That's good enough for me.

Yah but you would need to be a retard to throw your wiiU into hacking without even reading more then 1 site :P praticly all the guides specify to buy it, so its impossible to miss unless you rush into it, wich most likely is the case of most noobs who bricks by trying to save a couple of $ lol

Not taking time to read more before hacking is the user's fault. Really.
