I'm hoping this is in the right thread, if it's not, then please report it to be moved.

Anyways, I wanna try the new method of dsiwarehax but whenever I try to top up, I always get this:

It seems like it is asking for a specific top up card from japan. Did they totally remove credit card top ups in Japan Eshop?

You cannot use dsiwarehax on a Japanese 3ds <11.0. The only way is to hardmod
even with the new method dsiwarehax? The guide says specifically that any dsiware can be used as long as it has the right .app and public.sav size. So back to the question please

It's still entirely fine for me. Go to buy the game, then choose the third option down. After that, hit the bottom option (Top up the amount needed), and finally you should be brought to a screen with the option for cards.
Here's a lil album of pictures to assist: http://imgur.com/a/nXVN6

what firmware are you on? And if possible, what is the region settings you have. It might have something to do with that. Similar to NTSC consoles, when you select US as your country, it asks for a postal code. But if you choose Canada, it doesnt ask for it.

11.2.0-35J. I'm on the eShop fairly regularly and I've never noticed a lack of card option. Was it definitely there before for you?
This is my first time opening eshop, im guessing it has to do with the region settings. Care to tell what is yours?

Is it possible you selected the incorrect option to get you to that screenshot? I am not a fluent reader of Japanese (decent at spoken language, but illiterate as hell), but I do know the text in your photo is referring to Denshi Money, i.e. prepaid IC cards which are common in Japan. I have used Pasmo and Suica cards myself while there on vacation. They are not the same as credit cards, because they're prepaid. So I'm guessing you went down the wrong rabbit hole in the payment options.

Also, I live in the eastern USA but my wife and daughter both use Japanese 3DS consoles, and they've never had a problem using a credit card on the eshop.

Oh, he said the different GAMES would work. From what I've seen, you need a hardmod to downgrade a JPN 3ds.

Can you scroll down and see Visa or Mastercard on the bottom screen as an option?

I did make a purchase the other month using a UK Visa Debit card on a JPN 2DS.

Edit - I went to purchase the game directly after setting up a JPN NNID, and added funds directly as I was purchasing the game, not beforehand. I'm not sure if that makes any difference.

Or maybe i have to connect an NNID? Im trying it right now, but I havent received the confirmation email yet.

Yep, it's confirmed. You need an NNID in order to use a credit card. Otherwise you're only option is the prepaid cards used in Japan.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
