My external hard drive is not working, when i plug it in to windows in says it plugged in but does not let me access it.
My computer froze so i unplugged it and sense then it has not worked.
It makes weird noses now.
is there a way to get the data off of it or get it fixed cause its a tb and has everything one it

If you can, try it on another PC, so we could tell if its from the PC, or from the HDD itself, but by the looks of things its the HDD

how long have you had it ?

I have tried on other computers and have had no luck.
I have had for about 3 months.
I looked up this drive when it stopped working and most people say it stops working at about 3 months.
In has no fans and not many air holes.

In that case its pretty much dead, backing up your stuff is out of the question then

Make sure to avoid that brand next time.

Have you tried it on some distro of Linux?
Its saved one of my hard drives before.

Its unlikely, but it could be the partition table/MBR that is causing the problems. Probably not the sound, but the original problem yes

Try using a program called testdisk (look up a tutorial probably) to fix the partitions.
But its possible the data wont be recoverable
