I recently bought a used Wii U from the Japanese region with Aroma firmware and an external WD3200BPVT hard drive. Everything was fine until I wanted to try the Wii games. I couldn't figure out how to connect to the hard drive via FTPiiU, and I couldn't copy game images over 4GB directly to the sd card. I tried to connect the hard drive to a Windows 10 computer, but it was unreadable. I googled what I could do and tried the following: in the window "Computer Management" in the section "Disk Management", my removable disk (Disk 1) was located under the first system disk (Disk 0), I clicked on the area to the right under the black bar and selected "Create a simple volume" using standard settings without formatting the memory. After that, the hard disk became visible in Explorer, but when trying to open it, it gave an error and suggested formatting the memory. I returned to the Hard Disk Management window, deleted the volume, and connected the hard disk back to the Wii U. I turned on the console and saw a message saying that the hard drive was unreadable and the console was offering to format it. Is there any way to get everything back the way it was? Or now just format via Wii U and download everything all over again?
