I am new to all of this, but I recently softmodded my Nintendo Wii to run all Wii and Gamecube games using a hard drive.

How do I do something similar to the PS3, Xbox 360, and PS4? I'm willing to buy certain releases of those consoles if necessary.

Thank you, but I'm not very bright. Is there a video tutorial I can follow to get the PS4 doing the "downloaded games running off a hard drive" trick?

edit: also, are the homebrew things working for the new update of The Nintendo Switch yet? I updated it recently before I knew how this stuff works.

That's a good video but I am on System Software 7.00.

Is homebrew still possible? Also, what Hard Drive do I need to buy for the PS4's games?

And can the PS4 run PS3, PS2, and PS1 games?

That sucks. Is there a way to downgrade it to 5.05?

Also are there any limitations on what Hard Drive I can use, or should I go for the biggest available?
Unfortunately there's no way to downgrade. Try to get Ps4 on 5.05.If you really want to play backups.
Not sure about the Ps4 hdd limitations, but i think it should be no problem up to 8tb.

How about the HDD limitations for the other consoles?

How big is too big for the PS2, PS3, Nintendo Switch, Xbox 360, and Wii U respectively?

Update: my Freemcboot modded Ps2 is excellent! What's the largest hard drive I can plug into this Ps2 with the biggest maximum number of games? I have a stupid number of boxed ps2 games in the attic. And by boxed I mean I have cds in cd cases in big cardboard boxes under christmas decorations. Searching through them for the game I want and packing everything back up is a pain.

Hello welcome too!

What's the largest hard drive that can be stuffed full of PS2 isos and stuffed into the back of my PS2? I am using a SATA drive for now but it's pretty small. Can't fit my full backup collection on it.
