Welkom Matthijs,
Show us your problems!
Well i have a R4 SDHC Dual-Core 2013 for 3ds and dsi it always worked out of the box on OFW 1.1.0-0E without cfw until it gives the: "An error has occured, hold down the power button" error i don't know how because it NEVER was online. so i updated and installed cfw wich works well. But i just wanted my old R4 to work again (it has the spongebob logo) and it doesn't even show up but NTR-Launcher (wich i found a release from 4 days ago) does start and than: white screen. Also Twilight Menu++ does see the card but gives the an error has occured hold down the power button and apache thunder launcher has same problem.

Either Update the Firmware of your Flashcard
OR
Change the date of your console to 2010 or less.

Most flashcards can't work after a certain date has been reached.

Even when it is a 2013 model? or just change it to 2013?
The thing is that the Kernel of the flashcard looks for a certain date. If the date of your console has surpased a certain year, the Flashcard will think that there's a new Kernel update, which will limit it's boot until you update the kernel.
If there's no Kernel Update (Kernel = Flashcard Firmware) then try changing the date of your console.

Is a hit-miss thing.
I've had the same problem and that's a usual fix.

Hi everyone,

My name is Matthijs and I come from the Netherlands.
I visit this place every day for more than a year but never registered.
I registered because i have a 3ds, wii and wii u and i've got some trouble with flashcarts.

Do you have anything to do with @WiiUBricker : D

No.. not really i just chose that name because i bricked my 3ds. I just restored it using a NAND backup.

I think it didn't load the kernel at all but i'll give it a try.

Well... it seems that indeed there's a Kernel update on that site you've linked.
Try updating the Kernel of your Flashcard, and then try to load your Flashcard using Apache's Launcher.

If that doesn't work, try changing the date of your console to 2019, 2018, 2017, etc until you get to 2013.

If that doesn't work, try using an older Kernel but keep the date of your console to less than 2020.

IF NONE OF THESE WORKS then I don't know what else might be causing you troubles.

With every date i enter and several kernels i got this (dutch) error
Maybe he is bricked, so a firmware update should unbrick it but i only have 1 flashcard. Maybe there is a way without flashcard? such as twilight menu++

I tried serveral kernels for my card and also the latest but it won't start or even show up so maybe the firmware is corupted or something like that and i don't have another flashcard and my dsi is dead (motherboard is damaged) so is there a firmware backup i can flash and how do i even flash the firmware without a working flashcard? Is for that a cia or .nds file?

  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
never had that i don't think
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
  • DinohScene @ DinohScene:
    run h2testw on it
