My family's looking to buy an HDTV. What's the best out of Plasma, LCD and DLP? We're not looking for something big, like 37-42". Nothing too expensive.

So yeah, just want to know what the good brands are/LCD vs DLP vs Plasma.

Personally I believe cost/performance LCD are winners. They don't have the contrast of a plasma (yet) and blacks aren't really black.
As far as brand goes, Samsung have a low cost and are generally good displays, I have a 32" Samsung HDTV and I am getting a Samsung 22/24" monitor for my PC.

Personally while this isn't a problem anymore as much, if you're going to play games on it, I would recommend an LCD tv, if you plan on playing games.

What size are you looking for? Price range? Brand preferences?

Edit:

Judging by the information you gave

Best Plasmas: Panasonic
Best LCDs: Samsung / Sony
Best DLPs: Samsung

But there are also good brands out there...I need more info.

Samsung has some very decent LCD's in the "lower" price segment.
Sharp also has some very good quality Full HD TV's, but these are bigger and i see you need a smaller one. (I have a Full HD sharp tv myself, and i can really recommend it because it is a very decent and nice looking tv)
But I am also looking for a smaller HD ready TV for in my bedroom and judging the reviews I came out on this tv:
The Samsung LE32R81B.
It is about 569 euros, 32 inch large and has some good specs, so maybe this tv is also worth looking at.
And I think the smallest Plasma's are 37 inch so I think Plasma's are to large for you.

Time to switch PS4's from my old slim to my "new" phat. Kinda annoying that the whole PS4 scene consists of only twats, very little good and extensive text documentation can be found anywhere
