I was just curious if they had updated it, so I can update to 11.8.

Luma Updater isn't actually part of the official project, but it should have the latest Luma 9.1. If it doesn't, then you can just download it and replace the boot.firm with the latest version

Luma Updater is also recommended in the official Luma wiki, so there is nothing wrong recommending it: https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/wiki/Installation-and-upgrade

I've been using it since the first day i installed CFW on both of my systems and never had any issues.

yes just if you are one to use free shop or CIAngel I would suggest staying on 11.7 seeing nintendo can now easilly detect pirated copys and ban your console

It can't detect pirated games, it just gives Ninty the ability to simply flip a switch and shut down freeShop. That switch has not been flipped yet, and freeshop still works (as of earlier today).

It CAN detect piratING games though, so downloading from FreeShop while on 11.8 flags you... That's why if someone is downloading from FreeShop, they should stay on 11.7 for now until they get everything they want from the CDN, then update.

As of v9.1 yea its not as soon as a gitpull happens as it always does the compiled version will be outdated
