"
I have both a legitimate copy, and a backup of said legit copy. I played the legit copy on my non-modded 3ds, and I have been banned. When I called nintendo and explained the situation, they told me it is indeed a 15 day ban. Oddly, no ban on the backup played on my modified 3ds, but I never went online on that one, and only used it to get footage for journalistic purposes.

But, YMMV depending on what you did, and if you've done anything in the past."

idk if someone posted this already but i saw this comment in reddit

Well I don't even feel stupid for the fact that I went like "dude don't play that leak online or you will get banned" to a friend and the next day I did it myself, lol, like come on, I TOTALLY KNEW IT WOULD HAPPEN.
Too bad I actually like playing online but tbh I don't care much about eShop (except for updates) since Nintendo anyway don't allow their online services in my country (forcing me to buy all my games in cartridge format then install them as cia so I don't have to carry a backpack full of cartridges with me) and although I have my 3ds setup for an other country I still can't use my card to buy from the eShop.
As always and as morally right (to me) I will obviously buy the cartridge as soon as it is available here and probably do a self dump and then hope the ban will be gone till the end of December, otherwise I'll probably either try to play dumb with Nintendo ("bought this second hand n3ds and it gives me this error" style) or reason with them somehow, you know, prove that I actually bought the game in cartridge format and try to say I bought it early or something.
Best of luck to all and let's hope this is not permanent and if it is let's just hope someone finds a fix accessible for everyone.

022-2812 being permanent SHOULD be a mere inconvenience for CFW users, no? The 0121 that is assumed to be temp is online play, and the 2812 is eShop. As it stands freeShop still works even with both bans, so that's the work around for that (they're basically punishing you by saying "Now your digital purchases have to be free"). Now since patches are passed thru the eShop, you can't download them automatically and will have to install manually (that's the inconvenience). This is not a NNID ban for most users, since myself and others can sign into Miiverse and Wii U.

Am I missing something here?

It 100% won't

(wanted to ask if doing that temp method still allowed access to the original NNID)

Well, good to know then, just wanna try out different options..

2812 stops us from using pokebank,
if we want to legitimately transfer up from VC to check how it works, for example

Uhhh If the NNID isn't actually banned you should be able to link it. I've always cleared my NNID before I do stuff like this so I don't know how it work work with an existing linked NNID

I literally just ran through all my games to see.

The last game I had installed, AlphaSapphire, the 4th of the pokemon games, I found my complete national dex and my partially completed Shiny Dex (All frigging legit)

I'm so happy I got those buggers off Bank! ;_;

I have both bans and I can't use free shop, I thought was like that for everyone. I can connect, but when I try to download a game it stops at 98% or so. It's just me?

This my story. I played the game since it got leaked on day 1. Downloaded the cia from that isosite in the billy's thread. Played it, streamed the crap out of it on twitch since i had a quality capture card, and never went online. As a result no bans and it has been a week. :hrth:

Thor from "Pirate Software" said its just better to pirate the game than buy from a keyshop if you care about the devs

there's nothing to charge back because the keys don't cost them money to generate in the first place

Most these crack sites have dead links anymore or the crack don't even work
  • linuxares @ linuxares:
@The Real Jdbye What don't you get? If someone use a stolen creditcard. Then sell said key on G2A. If I the dev sold the game key, I will get the charge back cost. That's how it works, it doesn't matter if I generate 300 keys if 300 of them are bought with stolen credit cards. I never said it was on Steam, but its the dev that gets hit. There is a ton of stories out there if you google it.
