Hi MT ppl,

I'm having a bit of bother updating the HW on my MT Card. I got it a few months back and * I think * it shipped with hw 2.0. Just to confirm this I did a hw update from MT site to 2.0 when I first got it - I think I followed the instructions correctly but was fairly new to flash carts back then. The problem is Pokemon X and Y have never worked and even though I am on software 2.2 and emunand 9.0-9.2, the rom dev menu doesn't load and when I go into MT mode and save editor it tells me I am on hw 1.1. (All other games inc SSB work fine)

Trying to reflash the hw 2.0 update doesn't seem possible...the option to "update" is always greyed out, as if my pc and the card think it is already on 2.0 but it actually performs as hw 1.1 in the 3ds (hence pokemon X+Y not working)

I can't even see the card on usb ports on my pc, when its connected via mini usb to the usb connector on my pc, although the blue led on the card lights up.

I'd be grateful for any help/pointers from my fellow MT ppl, on how to re-flash the card to hw 2.0. Or in fact just to get my pc to see or register that the MT card (I have tried 3 different leads and tried wiggling the lead on the mini usb connector)

No, I'm not trying to trim pokemon X or Y, these games only became compatible with MT from HW 1.3 - 1.4 onwards. (Card2 games)

I have already tried another desktop and my laptop and cannot get my MT Card recongnised (but the blue-light comes on) Do I search for the card on USB devices ??

tbh idk, did you install the drivers or whatever it comes with, i haven't used the MT card so idk exactly how the updating works on them.....maybe someone else who has used one will be able to help, but im pretty sure i heard of a few other people who couldn't update their card

Hi, yes I'm using the MT 2.0 updater tool.exe, but "update" just remains greyed out, I'm really struggling to figure out how to do a renewed 2.0 hw update on the MT Card. Maybe the card is only partially updated so it defaults to hw 1.1 on the 3ds, but my pc sees it with some of the 2.0 files installed and thinks its on 2.0. This is my only explanation - in which case I need to wait for HW 2.1 to be released...hmm

Anybody HELP ?!

Are you using Windows 7? If so, I would see if you can get someone with XP to let you borrow their computer. I had a horrendous time trying to do any updates with 7 and its automatic installation of drivers and XP worked without a hitch. If someone has a better way, please let me know. Don't use a virtual machine, either. I may have bricked my MT-Card, because the update failed using a VM and now Windows 7 disables the device completely. I haven't had another chance to use a full XP machine to unbrick, since I did it.

Yes, I am using windows 7, I do have limited access to a windows xp laptop at work - I will try that, its not connected to the internet - will that make a difference?

What is a vritual machine ? You mean XP emulated in Windows 7 environment?

How can it be the case that MT are providing software that is clashing with Windows 7 ?

Don't need an internet connection, but will need the .exe file.
You are exactly right on what I mean by virtual machine.
Not sure if others experience the same issue, but if you look at the MT-Card PC screenshots, they are always using XP.

Interesting, do you think it could be something to do with needing to run as admin in windows 7 ?

Also, on MT site it recommends being connected to the internet - is this for auto installation of any additional drivers? It can still be updated with exe file without internet via XP ?
