I honestly suggest grabbing an externally-powered SATA enclosure and a normal HDD, be it in 2.5" or 3.5" format and using that instead of pre-built external drives - gives you more flexibility and you're always 100% sure that the drive has enough power (some enclosures require using a Y-USB cable because the console does not provide enough power to run the drive properly).

That drive works.
I have one myself, just an older model.
Just be aware they frequently are subject to dataloss if you are not careful.
Use the "eject" feature when transferring files and Wii games to it.
