Homebrew HANS as CIA ?

I wonder where the naming sense came from, it's acres away from R5 LOL

My best guess would be Homebrew [can] Access Nifty Stuff.

Getting back on topic though, NTR provides just about everything HANS does, doesn't it? There's not really an immediate need for a CIA of HANS. I guess if NTR's LayeredFS uses different types of files for romhacks, that's a problem, for sure.

No , hans will only read a game from a retail cart or an eShop game and then redirect the game to load the modded files on the SD instead of the cartridge, no file replacement is involved it's only userland.

if we use other peoples modded rom files and put on our sd card will it work? or it needs the original cart?

I would definitely like to see this as a CIA. unlike NTR, hans actually has everything set out all in one small menu, has all language plugins and even ignores game updates which makes using rom hacks a lot easier for some games and it is also more friendly towards online services since you cannot be found cheating unless you are modifying ram with NTR.

It is now an open source. Smealum said it himself that hans is now open sourced for download on his twitter

Well if anyone did it yet please provide a download :P. Also could it be possible to use HANS with cia programs?

Considering that you can use HANS with programs that you set to appear in the title launcher section of Mashers' Grid Launcher you should be able to have .CIAs appear in that same section. Unfortunately I can't test my theory.

Yes, it should work fine.

One last thing about HANS as a CIA, probably the closest you'll come to it now is using yellows8's homebrew launcher CIA, so there's no more BrowserHax, cubic ninja CIA, or OoT CIA required.

Hmm I have cia's installed both on sysnand:FBI and BBM and Emunand: Bunch of programs. When I launch HBL then HANS I see zero cia programs.

I've only tested with emuNAND and Mashers's grid launcher, but in those conditions, my CIA games showed up fine before launching HANS. If you're using the original launcher, maybe it has problems displaying CIA games on sysNAND, or you just didn't scroll enough (if you have a lot of games it can take a really long time, since you have to go one by one)?

If you start up homebrew launcher first thing when starting up your 3DS (im sysnand mode), then you won't see any of those installed .cias because sig check patches aren't enabled.

You have to start up a CFW, either in sysnand mode or emunand mode, /then/ access homebrew launcher, to access installed .cias on sysnand or emunand respectively.
