Hacking GUYS new exploit dropped for ps4 5.50 (Discussion)

It's just a waiting game. Any PS4 will be safe now assuming there's no one in the stores with 5.50 on it. Although it can change if Sony ships more PS4s from now on.

Or unless stores are forced to update PS4s and Switches

Don't read too much into it, they might have simply moved their stock to a location where they sell more often.

5.50 webkit exploit doesn't mean much without a kernel exploit. It's a step in the right direction, it opens a door, but that's about it (it's more like a window, really, a small window somewhere in the attic). And webkit exploits are fairly common.

I'm not trying to belittle anyone's achievements. I'm sure you can run some kind of code in userland mode... if you're interested in homebrew.

I tried the webkit exploit on my brothers ps4 pro 5.50 (he's addicted to fortnite so he updated...). Worked first try. I'm gonna stay on 5.05 on my own ps4...

I bought an OG xbox one 500gb a few years back which was faulty and wouldnt turn on (£30 boxed with everything and controller!), checked manufacturers warranty and it was within the year! Got a replacement console back within 2 weeks and been playing it online ever since.

sorry about that faulty xbox (i know how it feels because i also once shelled out aroudn 400$ for a moto nexus 6 some years ago and it was a lemon).

Depends what you mean safely: of course you can use accounts accross multiple consoles, but the fw of the slim will also need to be latest (5.50) to access psn features. So not safe for kernel.

Fyi: no it was all good. I bought it knowing it was faulty and after sending it back I essentially got a fully working console for £30

umm well , yeah i mean i would ofcourse update the ps4 slim ! i am literally considering buying a ps4slim for OW XD
and i was curious whether the account i have on the ps4pro which sits on 5.05 atm. would work without any hiccups on a brand new ps4slim ?

i mean the ps4pro is the one that is activated as primary or something like that, so would the psn account along With PS+ Sub that i have on it work on the brand new console ? if yes i will go for a ps4slim.

@leonmagnus99 yeah will be fine, im not too clear on the process, may need to deactivate account on one to put it on the other, or just sign in on new one and redownload content etc. Its all transferable for definite.

yeah i just read from someone , i would just need to deactivate the pro (which can be done on the psn website can be done on PC!) so i would just have to do that to use my ps+ on a new console, thats it bro i am saving up abit more to get the ps4slim.

i remember CFW can never be safe online in the long run on a Sony console (my fat ps3 was banned after some time online gaming) so i guess this is the best option for me because i need OW , i miss the game too damn much.

I've seen quite a few posts from you now about this and it seems to me like the answer is obvious.. keep enjoying your ps4 and forget about hax. You aren't going to miss out on anything if you revisit all this in a few months.

I used to do this with every console: have one for online, account activated, and latest update, and one offline for hax.

IMHO if you can afford to THIS is the only way to be.

Your Pro isn't hacked yet. So you're definitely safe to use your PSN account on another un-hacked PS4 right now. They don't ban people for staying on old firmware.

But when you decide to hack your Pro (assuming 5.0.5 jailbreak eventually comes out in the future), you probably should consider deactivate/remove your Pro from your main PSN account. I think you can do that on web browser and then do a factory reset on your Pro. That's because your hacked Pro might send PSN account information over to Sony when connected to internet. If someone does figure out a spoof to get on PSN with hacked PS4 in the future, I would just use a throwaway account.

Retarted, loaded again, "not enough memory error", hit circle, got the "youre all set" message....

Its definitely not 100% exploit rate for me.

Is this whats in the V2 self host pack you uploaded this morning?

The V1 exploit took around 5 tries to work but this V2 works every other try on my wifi usb stick.

What does it matter?

If it works 7/10 it's good enough for me.

What matters is its not 100% and my console freezes at various points.

This is a bug report for the "100% sucess rate" its supposed to have.

If I load HEN VTX 1.4, with new userland, it either loads fine, but fails to load games, or memory errors loads game to a freezes and freezes entire OS when I try to restart my console, or it works first time and loads games fine.

@mech its weird it wasnt doing this last night, just this morning when I tried to load little nightmares.

Just tested again and worked first time, loaded fc primal perfect.

Perhaps little nightmares is also corrupted now somehow. The loading times on it were horrendous, but now today it just simply doesnt load. Weird.

FYI theyre all on internal.

Closing applications takes forver... perhaps my hdd is on the way out?!

Yeah, somethings up, games wont close, turning off or restarting console causes system to freeze or hang (like it used to with rest mode), so something isnt right here......

Edit 4:

Removed and reinstalled little nightmares, loaded hen first shot, and the game: its working again.

Either something corrupted, or something is amiss here. Im not daft, so this is abnormal behaviour.

I still feel there is something not 100% with this latest update.
