Wow.. That's Ridiculous.

Yeah, my release doesn't have any vulgar language like that. The only place that it's hosted on atm is BC and NT... But was thinking about uploading it to Demonoid soon...Not sure, tho..

If someone knows where the Star Power text is located, I'm sure it can be patched fairly easily. Also there is a song in the bonus tracks that is way out of sync. I can't remember which one it was but it was under expert difficulty and I didn't try it for other difficulties.

lol.....there are no songs on my release that are out of sync.. unless your talking about the other release?

Yes I'm talking about the other release. My understanding is that qb.pak.ngc needs to be edited to fix the Star Power problem.

Very good but the rockband edition is far too easy ( not the creators fault he did a great job on it ) not bothered about the adult language but a few songs seem to be out of sync again not the creators fault probably carried over from were they were imported from.

Yes, there is. Taken from the www.scorehero.com forum:

*Guide to Editing Name of Songs on Playlist* - by GameZelda

PAK Editor GUI: http://www.savefile.com/files/1460553
Songlist editor: http://www.savefile.com/files/1460556

Instructions:

1- Open PAK Editor (requires Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package), click Open, change the type box to "Neversoft PAK-NGC (PAK.NGC)" and open qb.pak.ngc (that you should extract with Trucha).
2- Go to "cripts/guitar" and extract "songlist.qb.ngc".
3- Open the songlist editor, open songlist.qb.ngc, then edit (I suppose that you can change the names of the tutorial and NS tests to reduce the size).
4- Save in the songlist editor
5- Replace your new songlist.qb.ngc in PAK editor with the old one
6- Click save
7- Reimport and burn

Oh, and just google Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package if you don't have it. Easy to find.

I wish it wasn't rar'ed though rather have the ISO when it comes to bittorrent. Could've saved tons of time by reusing the Stereo version of GH3 and just force rechecking after renaming the file.

I have heard that somebody posted my version on RevolutionTT and didn't even give me CREDIT... I wish that site wasn't private of I'd be giving them a piece of my mind..

TPB. It was v2. Here's the NFO although it looks all messed up when viewing with Damn NFO Viewer, works fine when using a standard text editor. So I'm guessing at least this person gave you credit. At least I saw there were over 120 seeds so speeds should be very nice assuming people are still seeding.

Guitar Hero 3 Custom - Rock Band Edition - by CosmoKramer

ALL DIFFICULTIES
GUITAR ONLY - NO BASS

Includes every Rock Band Song from the mainsetlist, 4 of the bonus songs, 5 DLC songs, and The Devil Went Down To Geogia from the GH3 Xbox DLC. This is the OFFICIAL Rock Band songs with the same exact audio from the actual game. The guitar cuts off if you miss a note. The crowd sings along on some songs just like in the game. The guitarist animations actually go with the song (take a look when your playing) and moves his hand, and stops when there is no music.

Rock Band has 9 tiers, so i picked 4 songs for the 8th tier. I put the other songs and the DLC songs in the bonus section. They are scattered throughout, so look for them. Through The Fire and Flames is now The Devil Went Down To Georgia, the GH3 DLC version. Hmmm. I think that's it. Let me know how you like it. Enjoy.

Now that I've played a few songs here are my observations of CosmoKramer's Rock Band:
  • Star Power is harder to achieve (much longer consecutive notes to hit)
  • I believe Radiohead - Creep is out of sync (expert didn't try other difficulty)
  • There were two songs I noticed that sounded distorted. Bon Jovi - Dead or Alive (not that bad) and The Who - Won't get Fooled Again (pretty bad)
  • The Devil Went Down to Georgia was a nice addition, but I can't even finish it on hard
    frown.gif
  • I prefer the other Rock Band setlist that's made available to the public (that's just a matter of taste)
Please don't take this as a knock on your efforts but rather constructive criticism. I certainly wouldn't take the time to do the work nor would I be able to duplicate it.

edit: I've got a chance to play a little more of it and when I played Radiohead - Creep again it wasn't out of sync. I'm wondering if the DVD+R had problems reading that somehow made everything go out of sync for that song.

I was wondering what files needed to be replaced to make a mono ISO into stereo. I have both ISOs but so far experimenting has yielded no sucess

Some sort of patch would be awesome. I wish the Guitar Hero 1/80's/II discs were in stereo

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to do. I see alot of complaints in this thread about my custom discs being in mono. I'm still looking through the files but at this point, it's kind of like replacing random files. What might help is a stereo version of the PAL disc. All I can find is mono/stereo NTSC and mono PAL. Also, what song (regular GH3 song) is it easiest to tell the difference between stereo and mono?

You're wasting your time if you are trying to convert one of these custom GHIII releases into stereo. In order to fit in so many songs in the available space the creators of these customs are making the audio files mono to reduce thier size. It doesn't make any difference which version of GHIII is used as the base for these customs if the song files are in mono before they are placed into it.

The song files on both the original and fixed versions of GHIII/Wii are identical, and in stereo. What's been fixed is the FMOD playback engine and the way the song files are called by it. The original version had problems with surround sound which also created a lack of stereo separation and made everything sound mono.

I am very picky so I prefer to make my own customs based on the fixed version of GHIII with stereo files in the highest sampling rate available. Of course this limits which songs I can replace due to the file sizes of the originals. I give much respect to the people creating the released custom compilations as it takes a ton of time and effort to create them.

@Kor - what format are your song files in before you convert them with FSBANK?

I didn't notice any of those issues, but there was something else I noticed. It could be my imagination on the other songs, but I think some of them don't have ho/po notes in correctly. I know for a fact that at least ONE song doesn't have them in correctly, and that's Green Grass & High Tides on expert(only difficulty I play). At the beginning, a bunch of those notes are supposed to be ho/po's but aren't. In other songs, it feels off too, like some notes are ho/po notes that i don't think should be or others where I think they should be they aren't. But like I said, I didn't really look into it with other songs so it could be my imagination. I just know that Green Grass & High Tides is off.

I am creator of a few of the custom discs that were originally posted on usenet (and have since trickled down to torrents). Granted it is tougher to fit stereo files in to customs, but it is far from impossible. Most of the time you just have to shift the setlist around a little so you aren't putting a six minute song into one that was oringally three and a half minutes. If that doesn't work, you can make the preview, guitar and rhythm tracks mono. If that further doesn't work, you can mix the rhythm track into the song track (I did this in the RB disc). Rarely are you forced into making a song mono. I know used stereo files for all the songs on Guitar.Hero.III.Rock.Band.Modified.Wii. I'm pretty sure I did as well for GHI/80's and GHII, but I think a few songs were too big so I used mono. I could be wrong. Xbox 32 kHz 4 bit stereo wavs is what they should have been before converting to fsbs. So that being said, assuming a custom disc was made from a mono iso with all the dat/wads containing stereo tracks, is there any way files can be replaced from the stereo version to make it stereo? I'm about ready to give up on it. The only stopping me from redoing the customs in stereo is the lack of a PAL iso in stereo. All the ones I find are mono or NTSC.

Also, the latest version of Wiiscrubber allows you to replace files with ones larger than the original. I don't know what the limits are to this, but I used it to replace the qb.pak.ngc (setlist) with a larger one for my RB disc and it worked fine. One thing to note though, it takes longer than trucha and isn't really practical for replacing several files.

PS: Sorry for you guys who have issues with the language in the RB disc. I didn't think it was such a big deal. Just seeing what else I could edit.
