Hello.:)

Yes on the First 'Page the guide suits.
Only one Note: Personal I will set the compression of the ISO max. to 2.Any higher ones may causes issues.
(got that tip from @Ryccardo :yay: =

Thank you.:)

Good advice.

Anyone knows the limit the PSP has for the size of memory cards? I am using an adapter with a 32 GB micro SD (Ended as 29 GB after being formated in PSP format but whatever.) and is working fine.

there are some games that are acually just ports of the PS1 version for psp, it's possible to make the reverse way and play them back on a ps1?

No, the PSP hardware is less powerful. It struggles even to run a Nes or Master System emulator. Even a "PS1" with the extra Ram memory would be unable to.

Sure, from a technical stand point is technically possible but only for those games whose raw Roms fit on a CD, but you would need to make so many coding changes is not worth it.

Not to mention PSP games are made to work on small screens, some would not work well on a TV.

Edit: But if you want to waste years just to show off and do something like making Sonic Rivals 1 work on a PS1, go ahead, is your time after all.

Well, everything worked fine. I still think we should make backups of things for when the Filetrip site finally goes down.

Is a shame Crash Team Racing never had online play, is definitely better if you have someone to play with.

Edit: Found the button.

(off topic!)

That depends on your operaring system - most 5.00+ CFWs support 1 TB (of course, larger capacities mean longer mounting times since it has to calculate free space every time the XMB loads)
a 32 GB micro SD (Ended as 29 GB after being formated in PSP format but whatever
good old binary versus decimal gigabytes

Hello.:)

I converting these 3D Adventure games like Dracula 1+2,Amerzon,Versaillle,Atlantis and so on.They work great after choosing the matching POPSLoader Version at the Boot up.
They are ALL German Versions (certainly...)

Today I have a little "troubles" with this one:

Official Title Necronomicon - Die Dämmerung der Dunkelheit
Common Title Necronomicon - Die Dämmerung der Dunkelheit
Serial Number(s) SLES-03495 & SLES-13495
Region PAL
Genre / Style Adventure
Developer Cryo Interactive Entertainment.
Publisher Wanadoo.
Date Released 9 November 2001

SLES-03495.jpg

In PSX2PSP 1.4.2 this game is not found.
Only this Informations are there:

Ohnetftftftftftftftff Titel-2.jpg

If I try then to complete the Title(s)/ID´s manually

Ohnegzgzgzgzgzgz Titel-3.jpg

I get only a EBoot.PBP File that shows on the PSP a "Corrupted File" and is not to use.

Ohne Titeugugugugul-3.jpgP1060034.JPG
(It says "Corrupt Data" and "The Game could not started.Data corrupted")

I think I do the steps like on all games before except the Game is not correctly recognized by PSX2PSP.:(

Thank you for any advises or Tip to get this one to work.:)

The solution is actually quite simple:

In the psx2psp\files Folder is file named "gameInfo.db".
This can be edited (I used the Windows Editor for it)

It is a List of US/PAL/JAP games in it.
Then I searched for my game and found 2 PAL entries (one for the ENGLISH and one for the FRENCH version).
You can now Editing an existing or create a new entry.

For my game it looks now like this:

SLES-03495;SLES03495;Necronomicon - Die Dämmerung der Dunkelheit [PAL-G];Necronomicon - Die Dämmerung der Dunkelheit [PAL-G] [Disc1of2];PAL;SLES03495
SLES-13495;SLES03495;Necronomicon - Die Dämmerung der Dunkelheit [PAL-G];Necronomicon - Die Dämmerung der Dunkelheit [PAL-G] [Disc2of2];PAL;SLES13495

As I said, very simple.:D

Maybe this helps other users with the same challenge.

Thank you for reading.:)

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves

why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
