The ARM9 fix lags the game as discribed in some posts before.

I didn't test the Multiplayer Mode with ARM7 + Code, but singleplayer seems to work perfectly. (On R4)

I'm not aware of any cheats.xml, just the cheats.db which does not contain those lines. :/

If you have Sakura firmware it should be in SYSTEM/CHEATS folder...

Ok, I uploaded my modified cheat file, you can download it here

For M3 Sakura users - place cheat file under SYSTEM/CHEATS directory on your card, and replace your current cheats.xml file.
Then turn on DS, enter the cheat options, search cheat for GTA and enable it.

??? I don't know wtf you are talking about with the xml file. You just download this cheat.db file

If you are still having trouble you might have better luck with the release group's savefix patch.
It's called Grand_Theft_Auto_Chinatown_Wars_USA_SAVEFIX_V2_NDS-iND (find it yourself.) It doesn't involve repacking the arm files at all since it comes with a .bat file to install it. It's a lot like an ips translation patch.

I cannot, get this to work. AR Code fix.
I mean, I tried editing VARIOUS .dat's here on this site and putting them on my R4, but i'm having a hard time making a cheat menu appear in my R4 for GTA...Can someone upload their .dat file with it???

I'm guessing it has something to do with the RomID name
Pre arm7 patch says : YGXE DEE4AA12
Post arm7 patch says : YGXE 6F785128

either one in a .dat just doesn't find itself when I load up my R4.

Anyone know how to get this working on a iTouchDS? I tried editing a dat file in r4cce and saving it as a cheat.db file, I used different game IDs (Pre and Post ARM Patch) but nothing has worked.

I selected the cheat manually under the games preferences and I tried using cheat mode ALWAYS ON and INSTANT CODES, but nada.

I was using Cheat Code Editor not r4cce and that was the problem...

Also, I was able to get into the game, but clicking on wireless gives me problems...This is just with the arm7 fix

Do you even need to switch the ARM7 at all? Switching the ARM7 is only done if you NEED to do it. Otherwise it will cause problems like you are experiencing. The ARM9 switch or this AR code only changes 2 bytes, and does not affect multiplayer or cause any lag or any other problems.

I did exactly what it says and I still can't get that cheat button where you press "Y" to show up. The cheat and game ID are the same as in the first page. What am I doing wrong?

-EDIT- Ok I still have yet to get this to work but I've had time to read through the thread and it says something about an ARM7 patch. What exactly is that and how do I do it correctly? Also does the entire game work right with these fixes such as SP and online MP?

I decided to play, used my R4 and.. BOOM! It doesn't work! Cries, screams and anger everywhere! And then suddenly I was enlightened. A long long time ago I decided not to sell my Supercard DS One which I won here in the 42 CHG tournament, so it lies patiently in my drawer! Trumpets begin to play, happines and balance come to the kingdom once again.

Ok, obviously, I don't understand it, which is frustrating me.

So, I have a R4 card v1.18 and I have GTA (xpa-gtac.nds). So I added AR Codes to it using Cheat Code Editor which is on the R4 cd.

He recognizes the cheats, but whenever I launch Gta, it says that the savegame could not be used or whatever.

So I am reading this topic and I don't understand a thing about how to actually do this, since I'm pretty new to all this.

Can anyone tell me (step by step) what to do with the ARM7 patch and the bypass code (which I already entered in my CCE file). So that I know exactly what to do to get this game played with AR codes.
