    Heyo.

I'll be needing a good headset (yeah with a microphone) soon for college.

I also need one that's good for gaming.

I'm thinking of the Razer BlackShark and Electra right now

    What else is good?

You can use any normal 3.5mm headset (not USB) with iOS/Android by grabbing an adapter like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-5mm-Stere...677148?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item43b80d219c

I don't know if those headsets are good though. A lot of the headsets you can find today require a USB connection for power, even if they have 3.5mm jacks.
However, what I did find discover from a quick google is that the headsets you mentioned require the PC to support a 4-pin 3.5mm connector. Very few PCs support this, none of mine do, so you may need an adapter that is the opposite of the one I linked above if you end up getting such a headset.

    Broken link.

Have a look into the Asus Vulcan (note, there are at least 3 versions, one of which is USB with on-wire audio controllers) headset.

I'm currently rocking a BOSE QuietComfort 15 ANC (Christmas gift) with a Logitech Desktop Microphone.

OH! I used to have a pair of those. They weren't bad, until the padding crumbled to pieces (as happens with age).

I recently purchased some SteelSeries Siberia V2s which I am loving. (However I cannot say I have had much experience with previous headsets). The RRP was a bit steep at £65 for me so I risked it and bought a £25 pair off of eBay from China - they're perfectly legit (as far as I can tell, however legality of obtaining them I have no idea) just they have no warranty, boxing etc.

They'd be great for taking out to collage due to the retractable (uni-directional, this is a lot better than omni-directional) microphone, though the bars over the top may look a little weird, especially if you have a small head.
