Hardware Getting the 3DS XL?

I am definitely buying a new one since I managed to sell the old one especially now that some sites are previewing the 3DS XL and praising it as the definite machine... July 27th can't come soon enough ; )

I dont have 3DS but I wont buy 3DS XL until NIntendo say something about not including 2nd joystick built in first. Then I will know the answer. Right now, it look so much better than 3DS original version.

To be honest, I think I totally will.

I've been thinking about getting a new 3DS because I've had so much use out of my launch model, a LOT of use.
The serial code sticker has come off like any well used DS, the d-pad is flaking, the face buttons have hairline cracks, but more than anything, the touch-screen has become inaccurate and cannot be calibrated. For someone who loves Colors 3D this is heartbreaking.

Why I want a 3DS XL instead of another 3DS? Those larger screens look fantastic, and the drawing potential for apps like Colors 3D or Swapnote, and if it should ever be, a new Flipnote, oh BOY.
I'd keep the old 3DS for the oodles of streetpass hits I'd automatically get from each system together, coincidentally fabulous for Kid Icarus weapon fusion though I'm about done with that game now. But then, also for playing Kid Icarus because I imagine that game would be better suited to the regular 3DS somehow. That, and I suspect Kid Icarus is why my touch-screen is so inaccurate now, Sakurai has a knack for making handheld games that wreck havoc on a touch-screen, Meteos much?

I've been waiting for this since the 3DS was first announced I was upset when Nintendo went with the small screens after DSI XL.
I'm very excited for the 3DS XL I'm not to excited for the colors we're getting in the state's,It would have been cool if we had more choices
silver/black,all white or all black don't get me wrong i do like the color's we're getting Mega-man blue and Mario red but the more choices the better
I'm getting the 3DS XL on the 19th because I need those screens LOL and i can't wait for a new color to be announced,if only Ninty would've went region free
with the XL if only! then i would've gotten my XL earlier

But if we think about it, the special edition this year would most likely relate to kirby since its his aniv. Think bout it, a giant shiny pink 3ds with a giant puffball face on it.

that is what i am thinking would happen, it's so convenient to have them both release around the same time, fingers crossed who knows at this point.

Eh... I probably will get one. While i do take my 3ds with me to work (for streetpass and those coins), i do most of my playing at home. As such, a bigger screen is very appealing. That said, the lack of a second analog pad really brought the "gotta buy it asap" down. Knowing me though, i'll buy one probably before August is out, maybe trade in my 3ds for it and do the transfer in store.

Ok this is pretty simple, incredibly huge + no second circle pad + no full top screen for my DS games + probable no flashcarts working = NO BUY!!!!!!

PS: IF they give 150 credit at stores if you trade in older 3DS, mayyyyyyybe I could try it.......

There's literally no reason to think that. Even if there's an update, the currently supported flashcart teams will release updates within a day (or even hours, as with the last update for the SuperCard DSTwo) to fix it.

Haha, I wish. Gamestop sells used 3DSes for only $140, so I doubt they'll offer $150 trade ins.

Gamestop will probably offer 80 for used 3DS and that still asking too much, knowing them, they only give you 1/3 of what they sell it for so if they are selling used 3DS for 140 they will prolly offer like 50 and say its the deal of the year

If I remember correctly, they give $100 for used 3DSes. No idea if that will drop at all, concerning the XL.

Rule of thumb: Gamestop always gives you less than you think your merch is worth. I'm guessing 60-$80.

I'm almost 100% sure I saw a sign at gamestop a month ago saying they give $100 for used ones. Though that might've been for store credit, i don't remember.

And I agree, that IS less than it's worth. Unless you're trading for a different color, or for an XL (in which case you need your new 3DS on hand for a system transfer), you're always better off selling on craigslist or eBay. With places like gamestop, you're essentially paying for a middleman, so to speak.
