No. The Nintendo 3ds is probably the last DS I will ever buy. I own the Light, I, IXL, and 3ds. I racently bought a Samsung Galaxy S2 (totally unrelated) and do way more with that now. I am also very unsatisfied with the build quality of any DS. The L and R break up way too much after too much Mario Karting, the 3ds even have automatic scratches on the top screen for no reason. I have a Game Boy Advance sitting here way older and still works perfectly including L and R. Is it really crap quality or am I just unlucky? Even the L and R from my (bought launch day) 3DS are no longer working perfectly. Edit: Also the IXL still has its working L and R buttons after long time and I am most satisfied with the IXL.
I'm not trying to be a jerk or accuse anybody of anything, but I personally believe a LOT of these breaking pieces on game consoles have to do with people just flat-out being too rough with them. So many people I know complain about the N64 control stick breaking, the DS/3DS shoulder buttons breaking, the GBA triggers breaking, etc, but I've never had a controller or handheld just break on me from typical use (and I played tons of Smash Bros. and Mario Part with the same N64 controller, too).

Not denying that there's issues with build quality or saying you're wrong, just food for thought.
I might get it in about 60 years when my eyesight has deteriorated enough to justify owning something so stupidly large.
Without CPP integration, it's a completely useless model.
You just convinced me to buy one just to keep locked away in a case until I'm old enough to retire, that way I can actually see the games I'm playing. DAMMIT MALICE! :hateit:

Can anyone explain what is the point in buying one of these if you already have the original? Bigger screen and longer battery doesn't seem like it's worth 200 dollars.
Bigger 3D movies.

I'm getting one. And then i'm transferring from Ambassador Cosmo Black to that one. i'll probably give it to my sister, or my mom (who has my DSiXL), whoever wants it first.

Honestly the 3DS screens aren't unbearably small. The touch screen is as large as the DS's touch screen and the top screen is larger than that. It isn't like the screens are too small to see. It would be better if they released the CPP accessory with it, but that still wouldn't sway me into dishing out another 200 bucks. I'd buy a vita before considering updating my 3DS.

There's also little improvements with this model, like the headphone jack position. I think it's pretty stupid to have it in the middle. It looks nice but it's impractical.
They fixed the impractical stylus position too, it's now horizontal on the right, like on the DSi/DSiXL/DSlite.
I'm sure the top screen won't press against the edges of the bottom screen. and it's probably safe to assume they've fixed the low volume issue.
One thing that stands out for me is how it'll be much more compatible with original DS games. The whole screen resolution thing bothered me on the original. With this new version we'll be able to play Pokemon Black/White 2 in 1-1 mode without the screen being micro.

We don't have many details on it yet, but there's the little things that will be improved.

(And just for the record, you wouldn't be spending $200 since you'd trade in your old one. If it's going to retail for $200 and Gamestop offers $100 trade value then it's $100. Probably less if you sell the old one somewhere else)

That's funny. You think it's gonna take 60 years. heh ... guess again.

That's why they invented the pouch. But of course, people are too hip for that.
For me it's about practicality, not "style," so to speak. A pouch is an extra thing to carry around, plus it's 1 more thing that I could potentially lose somewhere and, knowing its value, likely never see again. If I keep it in my pocket, there's no worry of losing it unless I take it out and forget to put it back in (which almost certainly won't happen since I don't take it out unless I'm at home or actively using it). Granted, I can use the backpack that goes with me everywhere in college, but that doesn't help me during summer break, etc.

I assume in 5 years when my eyesight goes to shit and I have my super cyborg eyes installed it'll take 'em about 55 years to deteriorate.

i will not buy one... i feel like they are going to release one with 2 circle pad and improved specs by the end of the year.
I don't think the end of this year is realistic, but maybe next year or the year after.
I agree with this xwatchmanx, its like everyone keeps saying about why this xl didn't have a 2nd circle pad. Look at how much people already complain about how now theres an xl and they didn't know there'd be one, or they wouldn't have bought the normal size? Nintendo would have to be bat shit crazy to release this, then in the next few months or even next year release a whole new 3ds or whatever with the 2nd circle pad. It would lead to the 3dsxl ambassador status, and the 3ds "sorry you got double screwed" status.

They seriously should have just not released this XL, period and just wait another year and a half. Then, they could release the "3DS Pro" (with CPP functionality built in), and in 2 different sizes (regular and XL). That way, everyone could be happy (except for the butthurt people who will complain about a revision no matter when and what).

Yep but people will always be butthurt, and they gotta get used to it. It could be way worse, nintendo could be like freaking apple and decide to update their shit once a year with a new model, and you aint gettin no ambassador status for that stuff people. People keep acting like all this new stuff is screwing them over, when we are still on the same model of 3ds, just now having different sizes. I don't have a need to update to the xl, I love my zelda 3ds to death, and its portable. But I'm not so dumb as to feel hurt that they made a bigger size. Otherwise I'd feel screwed over when my 56 inch tv gets updated to 60 inches.

I still don't have a vita so I'd probably buy one of those before this, however, if they release a green (hahaha I know right?) 3DSXL, then I'll be all over that shit, or when people I trust can do body mods.
