i was planning to buy a dsi xl, so i just add some more bucks and buy the 3ds xl
i don´t care about the circle pad pro, anytime i need to use it, i have my old 3ds saying to me i´m here dood

I definitely want to upgrade, the small screen already bugs me, I can't imagine how much it'll annoy me knowing there's an XL model out there.

You guys reckon it's better to sell/trade our 3DSes now? Or wait until after it comes out so we can keep our save data?
That's the only way, right? We can't get some of the data off the SD or anything?
I'm sure selling/trading it earlier will result in a higher trade value.

I most probably will buy one but I'll probably see if I can trade in my DSI XL at something like Gamestop to lower the price. I'll keep the biggie at home and keep the small 3ds for traveling with me.

I probably wouldn't. Is Nintendo trying to milk money out of 3DS by releasing a bigger version of the system?
I'm just worried about the games on it. Wouldn't the graphics look a bit blurry because of the larger screen?
No, the screen is the same resolution so games will look fine.

Ok, but is Nintendo REALLY going to do this? A bit unnecessary, if you ask me.

What are you talking about? This is designed to be played more at home, just like the DSi XL. The DSi was unnecessary and pointless. The color GameBoy was pointless and stupid as well (I said Color GameBoy, not GameBoy color). Personally, I'm buying this on launch day. My 3DS now is being used when I travel, this XL will be perfect at home for me.

YES YES YES....
I will definitely get one !
Like I said it before, I hold off to buy a 3DS this long because I'm so used to my DSi XL screens and form factor, that couldn't possibly enjoy a normal 3DS.
Now that an XL model is coming out, there is no need for me to wait any longer.
Oh, and Paper Mario seems to be just around the corner as well.......;)

I will only get one if they intend to make a larger variation of this

Then I shall own the small and large! MUAHAHAHAHA!

I want one but I think Nintendo have pretty much ruled me out with their region locking.

I bout mine in the UK but now I live in Thailand where all 3DSs and games sold are American. I don't want to have to re-buy all my games, and I'm certainly not importing a UK one at UK prices and then being locked into download only or importing games.

I might get one, it depends on whether or not they make a sexy special edition one like the zelda 3ds.

If I already had a 3DS, I probably wouldn't.

But since I'm waiting out till I feel like I must have at least 5-10 of the games on the system, I'd buy the XL since I don't really pocket my handhelds anyway, and I like the bigger screen and form factor and "slightly extended battery life" however little that may be.

Well if they made a Layton VS Phoenix (or heck even GS5) special edition bundle (a la Zelda's for 3DS) I'd put away my grief regarding the lack of a 2nd circle pad and dive straight in.... XD

For now, I'm going to stick with the original 3DS. One reason is probably because I've just received it as a gift from my brother only a few days ago. Seeing that the new version was confirmed only a day after I received it, I saw it impractical to get a new one and besides, I don't bring my handheld consoles with me when I'm on commute since 1.) there's risk of being stolen and 2.) I play my consoles at home so the short battery life of the original battery life doesn't bother me much.

As long as it could play all the 3DS games, I'm fine with it. Though the larger screen is rather tempting.... :S
