Hacking Getting started/ intro to Roms, Acekard usage?

Is there a thread(i can't find any) that serves as a tutorial and/or guide on how to get started?

I just got myself a DS lite and wanted to join in the ROM playing.

AKAIO is better than the Official FW.
Google whatever ROM you want.Once downloaded unzip the file and drag it to your MicroSD.
Play and Profit.

personally i wouldn't run a rom found through a google search. while the bricker never made it over it is possible someone has it offered as a rom you could end up downloading. you could always use dslazy tho to scan for the bricker, assuming a modified version isn't being passed around. i still believe that if you don't have a reliable source to get your games from you shouldn't be into this hobby.

now with that said, this shouldn't scare you but you should be aware that it exists. try spending a day downloading files from the gbatemp download center. there is a vast amount of homebrew games and applications you can easily get lost in.

i'm not sure about the card readers. the kingston readers that shipped with my 2gb japanese cards read sdhc. you can get these readers for 5.99 off meritline.
