Nope, the spec says the maximum size for non-HC cards is 2GB and anything larger is non-compliant. SDHC has a similar restriction, the maximum size is 32GB (even though much larger sizes can be supported by the format) and beyond that you're expected to use SDXC (and pay the extra licensing fees to the SD card association).

Yay! download an utility from WD site, it was kinda hard to find, it seems they only offer this to a few request.
Anyway it stop the annoying idle, now my HDD works like a charm!
