Hacking Getting Golden Sun Working on M3 - How To

Ok, i understand that many of you are having issues getting Golden Sun Dark Dawn to work on your M3, i managed to get mine to work after agesss of trying, so i feel your pain
here are the steps i took to get it to work, i hope this helps everyone -

1. Format your card using an SD Formatter, preferably panasonic SD formatter.
a. if you get the error=-81 when trying to start a game you need to reformat it to FAT or FAT32 and vice verca so it works. (this shouldnt be an issue, but it was for me)

2. download the second YSM3.rar on the list (v6.40 infolib.dat fixed) from here - http://filebeam.com/folder/9451 (thank gaboros for this one!)

3. unpack (takeout) TTMENU, YSMENU and YSM3.nds and put them onto the root of your SD card, make sure u keep your other firmware folders no need to delete them.

4. copy Golden Sun onto the root of your SD card

5. Turn on your DS, go into YSM3.nds and then start Golden Sun, at first it will make a TTSYSTEM.bat file or something, dont worry, just wait it hasnt frozen and then it should load.

i hope this helps you out, i am a huge Golden Sun fan and this was killing me haha, let me know if you have further issues.

You have to use the ysm3.ips on the ysmenu.nds which can be found in my package.

I know there is M3 Wood, which hasn't been updated, but he was talking about R4 Wood.

Hello,

I've got an M3 perfect CF. I'd like to get Golden sun working on it but so far it's not.

I tried the quad-boot or sakura but I got a problem with both so I guess they were not meant for that kind of M3. Or I did something wrong. Now I feel I've reached a dead end and I will probably buy the game if my problem isn't solved by the time the game is released in France.

Ok, no problem.

Usually the games were getting a fix and I could play them after. (the latest were Pr. Layton, dragon quest ..) but golden sun doesn't seem that it will get a fix because most people can play it.
