or the system has to be functional to get it the original way: by exploiting the dvd drive itself.

for the dvd drive? iirc, you need to connect the drive via sata. it's been so long since I've flashed a drive that I don't remember much. I finally got rid of the computer that I did it with and put my nvidia shield in its place. thing could no longer connect to the internet, and it was like 15 years old

You don't need to do anything with your NAND dump.

Are the DVD drives the same?
As in literally the same Liteon and Liteon or Ben-q and Ben-q?
If so, just swap the DVD drive PCB between the drives.

If not, dump the broken DVD drive with Jungleflasher and flash that dump to the one from the RROD.
You might need to spoof the OSIG in Jungleflasher tho if the drives mismatch.

So I would have to find a pc that I would be able to hook the drive up to? one is a liteon and the other is benq

That is one tool I do not have. did some searching, not cheap currently. I've done a lot of research over the last few weeks about this, but thought i'd double check, do you need the usb pro or can it be done via a pc. Believe I have an old pc running windows 7 and may be able to find a sata cable long enough to get to the pc and use the 360 for power.
