On the PC version, I use the Logitech Rumblepad (looks like a Playstation dual shock) and I use the left analog stick to move and the right analog stick to fire.

Someone above said the 360 version was better....well I can set the res to 1600x1200 in the PC version and it looks SWEET! So how's the 360 version better?Â

I'm serious. I've never played the 360 version and I'm curious as to what exactly makes it "better". I thought they were essentially the same exact game.

Also, in the Wii version, does the background grid warp as you fire?

I meant that the 360 version is better compared to the PC version, I haven't played the Wii version, due to my lack of a Wii lol.

My question still stands.....HOW is it better than the PC version?

Here's some decent video footage of the DS version:

Online leaderboards, nuff said.

Wii has em, 360 has em but PC gets shafted.

Speaking of PC GW, I find the mouse, keyboard combination works great. Better than dual analog

Hmm...I was reading at GameFAQs that it WILL have an "all buttons" mode. How they know that is beyond me, but let's hope so.

HEY! I found this excerpt from a preview at Gamespot about the DS controls:

.....the DS version of Geometry Wars: Galaxies was a lot easier to pick up than its Wii counterpart. The default control scheme has you using the D pad to steer your ship. Then you use either the four face buttons or the stylus and touch screen to fire. The buttons do a reasonable job of giving you the freedom to shoot in any direction, but they're certainly no substitute for an analog stick--not yet, anyway.......

So it looks like it WILL have an "all buttons" mode. That's a relief to me and makes me a little more excited to play this on my DS now.

Now that this control question has been answered, I can start complaining that the non-warping background in the DS version is going to suck a lot of the wow factor out of the game. Though I fully understand why it won't have that feature, I can still whine about it.

I wish I had a wii right now. But I've been really enjoying Grid Wars (someone mentioned it in another thread). Grid Assault (another clone) is more accurate IMHO, but Grid Wars is a lot more fun.
That would be me, glad you liked it.

I just bagged this for Wii today at the store for $20 since I had some credit from some crap awhile back and a useless old DS game to trade in. It's worth $20, hell worth $40 if you enjoyed the level building aspects like Armada on Dreamcast had melded into the GW format.

...as far as when on the dump for the topic starter...come closer and I'll give you a hot biscuit now so you don't have to worry about when it gets released.

the warping background issue is cause of the DS's Hardware Limitations of 128 Sprites at a time ? (Though Shinen pulls this kind of stuff using a 3D Engine I think)
