I vote Wednesday at the earliest.

I actually don't have very high expectations for this game......one thing that made the PC version amazing was the way it warped the grid background....that was just plain cool. From what I've seen, the DS version won't do this, which IMO, degenerates it into just a newer version of Robotron.

Also, if it doesn't allow the ABXY buttons for firing, then I think the game will just be annoying to play.....judging by how annoying the homebrew game GeoWars was to play with the touchscreen firing.

From the download play version I was playing that comes with the Wii version it was plagued with slowdowns. The framerate was rather slow the entire time. Also the controls were fairly uncomfortable. My thumb got sore rather easily. A pity because I was looking forward to it quick a bit.

The Wii version on the other hand is one the Wii's best games, and possibly the best 3rd-party game on the system. I recommend it without question, soooo good

I paid for it on steam, only to find out it requires vista.. lol, only $3.95 USD or something though.
It is really good on 360, I will definitely "acquire" it when it gets "released", although I don't expect anything as good as the 360 version.

There is a hacked version that works just fine on XP as long as you have enough specs to run it.

That's the one I play. Use your favorite P2P to find it.

whats the control scheme for the 360 version?

left analog to move and right analog to aim or something?

Exactly that, but 'cause there's a neutral position for the right analog you don't need to press a button to shoot, unlike the Wii version -with the wiimote+nunchuck combination at least-.

I'm a veteran of the 360 versions but I actually like the Wii controls better. It's easier and quicker to aim around the field. I've been playing heaps of it on the Wii lately, racking up some high scores

I wish I had a wii right now. But I've been really enjoying Grid Wars (someone mentioned it in another thread). Grid Assault (another clone) is more accurate IMHO, but Grid Wars is a lot more fun.

On the PC version, I use the Logitech Rumblepad (looks like a Playstation dual shock) and I use the left analog stick to move and the right analog stick to fire.

Someone above said the 360 version was better....well I can set the res to 1600x1200 in the PC version and it looks SWEET! So how's the 360 version better?

I'm serious. I've never played the 360 version and I'm curious as to what exactly makes it "better". I thought they were essentially the same exact game.

Also, in the Wii version, does the background grid warp as you fire?

Yep. It doesn't on the DS version though. The Wii version runs smoothly and looks just like the 360 version except not as sharp (ie, not being HD). It still looks great though.

Galaxies makes all other Geometry Wars games feel like a demo. Seriously, it's that good. All the new inclusions work really really well.

I meant that the 360 version is better compared to the PC version, I haven't played the Wii version, due to my lack of a Wii lol.

My question still stands.....HOW is it better than the PC version?

Here's some decent video footage of the DS version:
