GC Picoboot VSYS diode install

I’m looking for a picture of how the diode should be installed on the GC VSYS point. The instructions say to use this point instead of the 3.3V point, and they mention installing a diode with the stripe facing towards VSYS.


I’m not sure about the correct wiring method: should it be wire → trimmed diode → continue wire, or should the diode be connected directly to the VSYS point the wire?


Does anyone have a photo or step-by-step instructions for this part of the install? Thank you.

It should be soldered via wires with some heatshrink tubing around it.

If you solder it directly to the pad, you risk pulling / ripping it off if you move the wire soldered to the component around too much.

I went ahead and I cut a wire about 3/4 on an inch, soldered the dioed to that piece of wire then I soldered another piece of wire to the other end of the dioed. I used heat shrink and I installed. Everything went well.
