Android GBCoid question

Just asking if anybody got GBCoid to run monochrome Gameboy games in actual Black&White mode?
The current latest version of GBCoid displays monochrome games with a yellow-ish color palette.

I saw videos on Youtube of GBCoid that showed it running Pokémon Red with a more "natural-looking" palette.
I assume that was an old version?

If not, how can I change the color palette used for monochrome games?
(I have unpacked the apk in a directory and would be ready to edit code, though I have no clue how smali works.)

I never could get the color palette to look right with any GBC emulator that I've tried. I assume it would be some setting changed but I could never find out what.
