Don't want to sound too anxious or anything, but GBATemp community is really Huge and skilled.
How about starting one or more Permanent translation teams.
Every several months the team gets the votes from a poll on the site,
and starts translating the selected game (if possible).
this way the whole process will be organized.
I am willing to assist in any way possible (Art translation, coordination or anything else)![]()
what do you think about it?
Hey. No.
These guys translate what they want, when they want to, as much as they want to, as slow/fast as they want to, and god knows not everybody is always happy with any of that. You want to make a team, which does what amounts to a job.
How much are you willing to pay them?
i speak lets see, 5 languages which 2 are near as perfect and 1 is my motherland language tongue.gifmegawalk said:well uhmm since i am a calculator and i love logic and i am a big fan of geometry
and i am highly interested
and highly skilled in publicity and marketing.
Publicity will increase when it happens
GbaTemp would reach a immense kind of fame
70% more subscribes to the forum
50% more publicity
57% more fame and fortune (doesn't matter as for me)
45% more skillfulled people willing to help
85% More Translations perhaps
So i think its a good idea perhaps but it can also end in a bad idea nobody knows except those who have their own fortune
Calculator is a machine. Publicity and marketing (esp. the latter) are the most not-needed things for a fan-translation (which is FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE).
Also, you pulled numbers out of your ass, and that pisses me off like nothing else.
megawalk
the two are english and deutsch
Netherlands is my mother language
i speak rather reliably japanese (looking for help in kanji & romanji factor)
i speak a little bit spanish
ooh and also uhmm yeah i am kinda a hack-a-holic but i am kinda lazy
you sure you could trust me ?
i am a dead terrorist, what would you expect ?
you know how i last time screwed up kriestmass.
with jingle bombs.
you don't know i hack game and game goes bwullulllull laaaa BOOM!
like a terrorist, how else would i be dead.
smile.gif
nah i will look into some research and find a answer on my questions

How do you know that we're unorganized?spiritos said:and the only difference they had was that they were organised...

in my korean rom hacking team, I do graphics and text, one does most of the text, and several translate.
But just because that there are people with different roles, that doesn't automatically mean that the team is organized.
and why create a team if you can't contribute?
spiritos said:as much as I wanted for treat this thing seriously, it doesn't seem like people are taking it seriously enough, too bad.
I do understand that most translators work either alone or as part of a small team, but if you'll remember the big SNES translation teams that used to translate games 100% complete, and some of them did it by the dozens at the time (heck, some are still active) and the only difference they had was that they were organised...

All of us translators/hackers are actually secretly organized. We meet up on IRC and collectively laugh at the noob posts then go on to translate games that nobody wants to play just to watch the users squirm in anticipation, hoping we'll translate their games.

Yes, subs in game translations, what an awesome idea!smurfbear said:translations? subs at best

have you ever been part of a translation team? Once you have been in one, you'll understand what I have meant.spiritos said:Hehe Moo said:psycoblaster said:and how do you know they were actually organized?

dude, If you read the first post I did suggest aiding in some aspects.
I don't really care for credit or anything like that.
if anyone have heard of the "Aeon Genesis" team? then you'll understand what I have meant.

How do you know, have you been part of a translation team?Hehe Moo said:Very true psycoblaster...
