I made the second one myself.
Also made a Chrome plugin from it: http://gbatemp.net/t250753-why-is-search-f...t&p=3076828(source included)
Dam - If I knew you made that then I wouldn't of done the guide for Chrome users 3 days later

It will be hard to not to do a new tutorial or a new how to, since there's already a ton of information on GBAtemp.....but anyway, i'll try it

This is just a suggestion but for ANY and ALL tutorials that are being made for this competition be locked please?

I'm purely asking this because I've been in a few of the tutorials for the competition and all I'm seeing is endless trolling and flaming about how useless a particular guide is.

This competition isn't so you can boost your post count by repeatedly posting "hurrrdurr, useless tutorial, nobody is ever going to need this herrdurr". Just because YOU don't need doesn't mean others won't aswell there is ALWAYS somebody who doesn't know how to do something no matter how simple it may be.

You could just report the posts. If they are not on-topic or trolling, then they are reportable material.

Obviously they aren't game consoles per-se, but could you do a tutorial based on smartphones? We have an iPhone/Android forum, don't we?
Forget that, just read through the first page. Couldn't you count them under other consoles, though? PLease? :3

Ooh...a writing contest. How nice.

I've helped so much newlings over at the wii section that it should be easy.

...or not. As between modmii and the completesoftmodguide (both stickied there already), there is not that much not already been covered.

Hmm...I'll give it a good thought and see if I can find something interesting that isn't explained to death already.

Some of the more advanced, interesting stuff. If I hadn't already posted it, my Preloader hacks.ini tutorial would be an example of what I mean by this. Maybe something to do with creating cheats or something like that? (This isn't directed at you exactly, just a general idea that may be interesting for the Wii).

Also, just something for all tutorial makers: While the tutorials should probably be n00b friendly, most of the ones I have seen so far are incredibly basic and simple concepts, basically written purely for the sake of entering the competition. Try to write something a little more interesting and worthy of consideration for winning.

And would it be possible for someone to make a little index of all the tutorials posted for the competition? Might be handy...

this is a good idea, since it seems like some people are worry their entry will go be unnoticed

There's a problem with that. IF the topics are locked, they become locked from editing also.

All tutorials will be listed somewhere eventually. We're still working on that.
Tutorials will also be linked on the front page.

I don't think this is a good idea. People may have valid questions and suggestions.
Locking will also prevent the author from editing it himself.

Also, styling you tutorials isn't a requirement, but it'll definitely help.
Some nice tags you can use are:

Code:
[p= ]blah[/p]
blah[/p]

And one I just added

I'm also looking into adding the anchors back (in a different way so they won't mess with anything), but I'll need to discuss that with Costello first.
