Sadly, it's not that easy to fix the pallets because it overwrites the game with FF Bytes somewhere that brown tiles are flickering. So it would be more helpful if we had a disassembly of the new generation of VC...
We're only working now on the Silver and Gold port, no other games we're interested in.

Anyway since a disassembly is unlikely to happen anytime soon, should we compare the new VC with the old one? We know that at least palette-wise Pokemon GSC works fine on the old VC.
That will not happen in the near future I think. You can't just drag and drop the patch to the old VC, that's not how it works. They both have different code.bin and we still don't know where it overwrites white pallets. Because not only this is in the code.bin, the new code.bin is a lot bigger than the old one, that means it allowes the whole patches we fixed for Crystal. But when you just drag and drop it to the old VC, your game will not start."Nearly" being the key word here. Still needs that palette fix.
I never said just throw the game into the old VC. I might not be fluent as most in 3ds coding but even I know that's just not how it works. What I meant was it would be worth comparing the old VC code with the new VC code and try looking for what's changed in terms of palette coding. Of course, there's also the link cable features in there but assuming we don't touch that we should be able to find what makes brown palettes work in the old VC while they don't in the new VC.

Any E.T.A on when the patch can be released into the wild? (Even without the colour palette patch)
Well.. I could look into the both code.bin after the Gold/Silver patch, that's something, I'm interested in, too. But don't expect too much.
The code.bin are very similar but not the same. I only must find the thing that contains the link cable functions... But this is definitely not easy. Right the old one, left the new one.

Within the next week, I would say. School started recently for me, so work and motivation has slowed down a lot, but I'd like to get this done very shortly.

They're releasing a patch that will enable wireless communication. The new VC still can't display the GSC color pallets correctly, so you can choose either correct palletes or wireless communication. If you meant to simply play GSC without wireless, that's already possible.
Done eh? Have these been released out to the public yet? I can't wait, this is such an amazing little project that I'm so happy to have a scene like this take on and complete.

Yup. That's what this is all about, taking what Nintendo did with the official Pokemon RBY 3DS VC titles that allowed for wireless battling and linking and making it work with Gold, Silver, and Crystal. It was found to not be the easiest of tasks, however, they've managed to get it done, and that I think is something that should be applauded haha.
