Well, yeah. Finalize, verb: "To put into final form; complete or conclude". When GW say they're "finalizing" their support for 9.0-9.2, one can assume that it is close to completion.

What "close" actually means is up for speculation. I'm speculating that "close" doesn't mean 3 months.

The key word here is "soon" - depending on who you're dealing with "soon" can be anything from 1~3 weeks to 3 or more months.
Note that "soon" was first ushered like a week ago. And is still being used.

Gateway is still not at a point where they are ready to give a date... For whatever reason they have not to.

If they are smart they will release it before xmas, or right around then. Thats when people have most money (from gifts etc) to drop on things like this. Vappy, did they need to release new hardware for that though? Because this is just going to be a software update from the sounds of it.

Not to be a downer, but anyone who orders before or right around xmas is going to have to wait quite a bit, or worse even, might have severely delayed or lost packages.

No, not if you're on 9.2, apparently the blue card only works with 6.0 and below or thereabouts. You can get a compatible DS flashcard card pretty cheap tho.

I read most posts here. It seems like GW saying no hardware update needed and it's software needed only. What does this mean for us? Does this explain how GW work 9.2?

Thats because I'm more patient with these kinds of things. Why post about the suspense, why even wait. There are things do be done other than wait around on my desktop/laptop/smartphone/tablet for an update from Gateway. When they are good and ready they will release.

Effectively yes. It's just an old outdated ds flashcart, that was blocked in newer 3ds firmwares.

Went with modchipcentral for my dstwo, pretty quick to deliver and reliable.

Assuming it's a differen't exploit, and not a Sky3DS Clone (it most likely isn't a Sky3DS clone, but whatever) probably. But Gateway would still need to implement it.

I have a feeling once they are done with finalizing support for 9.X systems they'll release videos of 9.X firmware functionality and then maybe also include a release date.

I also want to be optimistic but we really don't know how long it could take. "Soon" is such a vague term. I hope Gateway increases productions of their cards otherwise we are going to run into a situation like Cubic Ninja for awhile. I still haven't gone out and bought a Gateway, but I might "soon".
