Oh, I think I'm understanding now. The Blue Card is just for updating, but the Red Card and SD card is the only thing required in the console to run the roms, correct?
Tee blue cart is necessary only for installing the exploit in the 3DS. It corrupts the Nintendo DS settings in order to make the system run Gateway's Launcher in the SD card..
You'll only need it again if those settings are corrected, like when you run a DS game or check the DS Wifi settings in the options.

I just realised that buying an SD Card (not MicroSD, just SD) would be worthless since the New Nintendo 3DS doesn't even use an SD Card, but rather just a Micro. So really, I'm much better off just buying a single huge MicroSD in this case, yeah?

An actual DS game? Or a DS Rom? Does the exploit need to be re-run in this case?

I run a 128gb microSD in my gateway red card all day, all night.
Blue card, i couldn't tell you. Mine died after 2 single uses.
So really, after you run the initial exploit, you can often just leave the red card in and be just fine, right?
Awesome, I thought you'd have to be switching back and forth with every power cycle.

when you start the ds mode in your 3ds every ds flashcard and ds game you installed the exploit. but when you start only the exploit on your 3ds you must only install the exploit 1 time. sry for my bad english

That's correct, blue card (or any compatible DS mode cart) only installs the exploit. After that you just need to launch the exploit via system settings>profile settings>ds profile settings each time to launch emunand (red card needs to be inserted)

Be awear though, everytime you play a DS mode game/use a DS mode flashcart, you need to reinstall the exploit again.

Eh? It's better to keep games on the SD instead of the MicroSD?

Anyone have a link to where that's explained? Does SD have any other advantages over MicroSD? What about vice versa?

- You still need SD for save and updated, patch. but with new GW fw 2.6 it's allow you install your 3DS rom to your SD card that will help you expand more 32GB for game storage. Read this : http://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-converting-3ds-to-cia-for-dummies.373722/

Everytime you run DS game or rom you must install exploit again. if you just only for 3ds ROM It's no need.

- Just leave your red card in 3ds slot. no need to change.
