I wouldn't consider Smash a 'competitive fighter' by any means.

Smash is one of the biggest competitive scenes.

Proof.

I saw Brawl was added to MLG and thought it was a joke.

I'm a fan of Brawl and all (I play it enough to know so) but it shouldn't be competitive.

It's most fun when you play for fun.

Girlfriend + Gaming drawback: It is really hard to play Left 4 Dead during a handjob.

Just make sure to use the auto shotty so you can blow away lots of zombies during your climax.

But yeah... Role playing and getting turned on by video games... That weirded me out a bit. Most of the time chicks are turned off by obsessive video game habits. Why would you want to date a guy/gal who spends more time screaming "BOOM HEADSHOT" at the TV than with you? Or only wants to fuck after getting a tactical nuke?

Not to mention with being an obsessive nerd gamer comes all the internet memes you learn. Nothing halts sex faster than an internet meme.

Because it wasn't meant to be played competitively. I love Super Smash bros but it's a party game. Sakurai said so himself.

You wanna play something competitively? Stop being a little girl and learn to play a real fighting game like Street Fighter or something equivalent.

On topic

I'd rather play video games than have a girlfriend. Say what you will but I gain more pleasure from fully completing a game than having some attention whore bothering me and being selfish by not letting me play video games.

So all it takes for a game to be competitive is to have a forum full of whiny babies who take the fun out of the game?

Huh.

This. Even as an avid SSB fan I acknowledge it's not anywhere near as large as popular fighting games. I know they hold tournaments and have it in MLG (although really MLG is FPS games and then one fighter for "variety"), but it's not as competitive as key note fighting games.

Don't worry, you'll grow out of it.

I'm twenty going on twenty-one. Don't tell me "I'll grow out of it" like I'm some angst ridden thirteen year old. I don't remember there being a law saying you have to have a girlfriend in order to be happy. If someone finds happiness through being by themselves and playing video games then that's their god given right and no one can take that away.

Sure a girlfriend would be nice but it's not one of my main priorities because I really don't care. Everyone I've encountered that spoke out against my point of view was either underage,in high school or some sad soul whose life revolves around club hopping, getting drunk and attention whoring on social networking sites with 2000+ friends.

I've met alot and observed of women in my lifetime and the majority of them are attention whores suffering from a false sense of entitlement and unwarranted self importance.

A girlfriend is not mandatory to be happy in life and I wish people would stop acting like it is.

I can argue about this all day.
I have my fair share of stories to tell.

And you won't even consider the slight possibility your outlook is just a tiny bit skewed?

You claim not to be an angst ridden thirteen year old, but you sure act like one.

Nope.

Why should I? It's mostly true.

Are you sure you're not just frustrated? (no offense)
I agree a gf isn't mandatory, but at least it'll make you happier and it'll give your self-confidence a boost (if you're doing it right that is)

lol hijacking good threads are we?

Funny video, i liked it.

On other notes, no you dont have to have a girlfriend, nor boyfriend.
Why would you tell us about it though if you dont care? I'm sure you will find someone to have a nourishing relationship with someday though, until then keep on gaming.
