Gaming gamestop saying GBA is a classic system

staring april 4th. what are your guys thoughts on this. and i wonder why there doing this whats next they won't take gamecube games before novermber?

To be honest, I havent seen any GBA related items in the last 2-3 years here.(here as in, where I live).

It sucks, but I don't think that many people are heart broken since most people don't even trade GBA games/systems in anymore.

its only 1 gen behind now where as the gba is 2 now thanx to the 3ds

Although, the system came out in 2001-2002. That's basically a dinosaur in technology years.

Well... Nintendo isn't making a system that plays GBA games anymore. I don't see a problem with it.

Gamecube and Xbox discs are still at least compatible with Wiis and 360s. And the PS2 is still barely a viable system on it's own and there are some PS3s that can play PS2 games so it makes sense why they still sell those.

Though now might be a good time to scour your Gamestops/EB Games for liquidated GBA games.

heh....or scour ROM sites for a full ROM pack of GBA games.

I mean seriously, they overcharge for a used game and want to give nothing for GBA games. Their rip-off trade-in prices are the only reason I still have any original GBA carts.

Basically this means that the latest consoles don't have GBA compatibility. When something loses the means to play (GBA Slot is not in the DSi/3DS consoles), it becomes less traded even though the DS Lite can still play GBA Games. Selling second hand GBA doesn't necessarily add that much to the profit since they require a lot of warehousing and such (look at the big scale, not at your local Gamestop only). Ebay and such are much easier places to sell GBA nowadays

Gameboy Advance is dead, it's two generations behind and while it was a good system [with a mediocre library] I have no problem with calling it dead. 2001 was ten years ago, remember that.

Lol. Only GBA game i've bought recently was Tales of Phantasia, 2 years ago.

People just need to emulate it now, which is easy on most any PC.

EDIT: Plus it's not like other stores don't still sell GBA games. I know a store that sells tons of GBA/SNES/N64/etc games. Way cheaper then gamestop.

Heh. Last time I tried to trade in a GBASP a year ago, they denied me, saying you can't trade it in to any GameStop anymore. I took them at their word, and apparently I could have traded it in the past two years. Funny, I no longer desire to anymore, since I not long after discovered how they will rip you off so bad. (traded in Leaf Green for nothing and saw it the next day for $5 less than full price

I traded in an SP to them (broken) and got 15 for it, but with a super promotion they had a few months back I got 25 extra bucks, o I ACTUALLY got 40.

With that trade in value and some from some shitty games I got for free att he time I bought my PSP Go for 80 bucks.

Oh, and I got the broken SP for free too.

I have ripped off GameStop so many times I don't mind paying 2-4 bucks extra for some games used every once in a while.

Just so you know, I know them there so I am not taking advantage of them they literally don't give two shits about ripping the company off.

I have been hawking the GBA stock for the past months waiting for the clearance sale...
