I know that GameCube on 3ds was talked many times before but i never saw anyone asking about this specifically
Could it be possible to modify GameCube games for a 3ds to be able to run it? or is that just not possible?

As you said, it is a port, not emulation. And it is a port for New 3DS, on o3DS it runs almost in single digits.
Do you mean when you disable the L2 cache and higher clock rate? Or is there a way to run N3DS games on o3DS? Since, yeah, whenever I've done the former it runs like piss.

That's not accurate of the real o3DS performance in games or homebrew.

I don't know if the Xenoblade method was public, but you have videos in Youtube.

GameCube System Specs - 640x480 resolultion, 162 MHz ArtX-designed ATI GPU, 485 MHz IBM "Gekko" PowerPC CPU, 24 MB (2x 12 MB) MoSys 1T-SRAM @ 324 MHz main ram.

On paper it looks like the New 3DS XL could power GameCube games. However, the CPU architecture is different (ARM vs PPC). If you could port over the game's source code, you could run them. Through emulation you couldn't.

And unfortunately we don't have the resources or convenient drops of leaks code to work with. It would be cool, but the 3DS can't even manage to have a great streaming app, since it's not meant to do that either.

How would one go about porting a game? Like Pokemon XD gale of darkness for example.

Most Gamecube and Wii games can't even be ported to 3DS, let alone emulated on it.

Even if you did port them it's not exactly a straightforward process. Nintendo has the resources and people to do these ports and they still take time. Not to mention that in order for us to port games they need to be reverse engineered first (you could probably cut corners and not do it 100% legally but it would still be a lot of work) then you would need to do the massive amount of work that Nintendo would've done but this time all on your own.
Then after all that there's the fact that not a lot of games can even be ported since the 3DS is actually less powerful than the GameCube and Definitely less powerful than the Wii.

There are ways to get usable source code, sure they're difficult and some of them are illegal but it's not the biggest hurdle for running GameCube games on a System that isn't powerful enough to support them.

Don't say Luigi's Mansion is a good example of why you can port GameCube games, that game started its life on the N64. It's not very intensive compared the majority of GameCube and Wii games out there.

If you’re thinking emulation, Gamecube to 3DS will probably never happen (I mean Dreamcast emulator on the PSP does exist... sort of) but if you were to decompile a game and port it to run natively I’d imagine it’s possible, maybe even Wii games like with Kirby’s Epic Yarn and Donkey Kong Country Returns for example, we even got some Wii U games ported over to the 3DS like Captain Toad and Mario Maker and a demake of Yoshi’s Woolly World.

Luigi's Mansion is on the low end of GameCube games, it started its life on the N64 and then was moved to the GameCube before release. The 3DS has no issues running Ports of N64 games, just look at SM64 as well as the official Zelda ports.
The captain Toad and Super Mario Maker games also aren't very intensive games.

If you wanted to port a higher end game like Super Mario Sunshine though, nearly impossible. You might be able to get it running but it wouldn't be smooth unless you heavily modified it.
