GBAtemp Pokemon Showdown tournament sign ups open, set to run on the 20th of June
It's tournament time again! For those who missed out last month, I've been putting in some effort to gradually revive the GBAtemp tournament series. The current plan is to be hosting one event per month, but if interest does grow, so too could the number of events. This month we're again playing Pokemon, but we're moving to Pokemon Showdown to play a bit more of an interesting metagame: Mix and Mega. The core idea here is that any Pokemon can Mega Evolve, taking the same buffs as the Mega Stone they're holding. You can read more about it here, but it's not too hard to get to grips with. To make the event a little more accessible, we'll be playing on the Random Other Metagames server and making use of random teams. All you need to do is show up on the day!
The event will be running on Saturday the 20th of June, with the current plan for it to start at 2pm in the UK. I am happy to discuss the start time further if there is a consensus among those wanting to enter. Those interested should pop over to the GBAtemp Tournaments group and reply to the sign up post. As with last time, anybody with an account prior to this post going live is eligible to enter, and I'll be throwing a £20 eShop voucher up for the winner, so you might as well take a stab.
