Hmm.. are they "clean" dumps? Maybe the savegame file is updated when you switch back on - are you just checking via PC?

Hi, I'm having the same problem with my new G6. Is there a way to check if a rom is "clean"?

I only got a couple of games to test it out. Metroid is saving fine, Resident Evil is not. I've been reading a couple of the other threads regarding save games on the G6, so I'm still not sure if it's the rom or my G6.

Thanks for any help.

Thanks HellShade. A soft reset seems to keep the save game.

However, now I have another question. My G6 always auto-boots no matter what, the same problem other people have encountered. I've set Boot Icon to yes, still didn't work. I formatted the card and installed the system files, still didn't work. That coupled with the save game issue, would you recommend I try to get a replacement? Having to soft reset isn't really a big deal, I just wonder if there's still a small problem with my G6. (G6DS Real 16g just to clarify)

Thoughts, anyone?

Yeah, the save problem is pretty much the most obvious sign of a defect card. A lot of people have similar problems with their 16g (this is probably a bad batch being sold right now). Send it in for an exchange.

You may want to try re-charging the capacitor and see if it'll work again.

Charge your DS overnight with the G6 Ds Real inside the slot. Try saving games again the next day and see if it'll work.

Hope this helps.

As far as firmware is concern I cant give a exact date when it'll be out, but I'm sure it will be an improvement from the current firmware.

I could, but the "official whatever" threads usually don't last long in the G6 section

Any specifics on what would be fixed? I'm hoping homebrew and homebrew icons will be

Hey g6team, there is nothing in the manual about this capacitor and how we should best manage the device to deal with it. What is the capacitor for and how long will it hold it's charge when the card is outside the DS. What are the constraints with saving games, etc? (apparently we are supposed to always reboot the card to make sure an earlier game is saved? - it's not in the manual).

Also, please please consider fixing the bug where there is no way to make the G6 boot straight to the games listing. We must always hit a button after bootup to get where we always want to go (you may call this a design decision but I think it is such poor usability that I call it a bug). Also, please fix the bug where the games list does not sort on initial display.

After saying all this I do want to thank you for a fantastic device.

My g6 real only gives me happiness, i haven't had a single problem with it.

Theres something that might help you who are having problems:

as soon as i received my g6 i formatted it by holding start.

I think that everyone that buys a g6real shoul do the same.

Alright here we go, ill try to answer as much as I can.
The Capacitor is the device which will save your game. Act as a battery so if it runs out then your games will not and cannot be saved. The Capacitor is being charged constantly even while you're playing games. It just that if it wasn't charged to begin with then you will have to charge it overnight to get it going.

Personally I have yet to have to Restart everytime after each game to make sure they are saved.

The boot up process, I will inform the Team about this current bug where you can't select what to boot first menu or no menu.

Thank you once again for purchasing our product!
