Personally, I think that 512MB is a good number. True that you will have to transfer files more often, but at least you can carry more than 3 games at a time.
Yeah but then you can't play some games (like Resident Evil DS)

Don’t know why people keep spitting out the same BS.
Just to clarify again! I have tested both the M3-SD &
the SC-Mini & the SC-Mini gets 30 Min more of bat
life over the M3, I like the M3 but lets stick to the facts.

Alright, so a M3 Lite is in the making, interesting... makes the decision even harder... G6 Lite, EZ4 Lite or M3 Lite...![]()

1MB=8Mb .. or .. 1 Mega Byte=8 Mega bits
RE at 1Gb (Giga bit) = 128 MB (Mega Bytes) . so it will fit into 512MB four times

Ok so when I buy a EZ Flash 2 and they say 1GB, it's completely different than when a MicroSD says it's 1GB?

Now if you want some more confusion..
A typical SD Card or most any other storage media, HDD or CF card ETC. will advertise its size in gigabytes but these are actually units of 1,000,000,000 Bytes. A computer will see this as less than the 1,073,741,824 Bytes expected as 1 Gigabyte.
You also lose some of the storage space due to formatting the storage device.
See this Wikipedia page for more info.
This makes my Sandisk mini-SD closer to 1.9 GB than the advertised 2 GB.
Don't even start on Gibibytes / Mebibytes![]()

haha thanks. I figured that with the EZ Flash 2 for example (or the G6) when they say 1GB, they don't mean like hard drive space. For example, Final Fantasy 3 for SNES was a 24mbit game, but if you put the game on a PC, it was only like 3mb.
So am I right in saying if I bought 1 gig Sandisk card, I'd be able to fit multiple instances of Resident Evil for DS, even though it's a 1GB game?
My phone uses micro SD (actually it's called transflash, same thing) and yeah it came with a normal sized SD adapter. One important thing to find out is how they compare with mini/regular SD in speed though.Actually one question, this might change my mind but like with the miniSD having an adapter making it into a regular SD.. Can the same be said for the microSD?

I'm the same, just add battery life and speed as points. What I want:
1) FULL compatibility (as much as possible) with FULL saves
2) At least 1GB
3) Price under $80 (without removable media)
4) GBA support for the 'top' games w/ saves
5) Does not stick out & has WHITE color (to match)

Interesting, I'll have to wait for someone to test some cards with EZ4L and the Castlevania intro (hint hint gbatemp review) before I go and buy one though, one that came with my phone is only 64MB.
On a side note it's nice to see so many Aussies on this board.![]()
