I use both Gateway and Boot NTR. I know I will probably have to update FW eventually for upcoming games such as Pokémon Sun/Moon, but am wondering if Boot NTR and Gateway work with FW 11? Thoughts/help GREATLY appreciated and thanks in advance :)

Gateway does support 11.0 emunand right now, but BootNTR does not, and possibly will never support 11+ FIRM anytime soon. But I believe GW loads 9.6 FIRM so you should be ok :)

I keep hearing about A9LH, but don't know much about it... I have a few questions:

- All of my games are in .3ds format (For use with Gateway). How can I still play/use them with A9LH?
- Will my Gateway saves work with A9LH?

You convert your .3ds files to CIA and install them, and then you extract your gateway saves and inject them into the CIA version of your games. Should work without an issue.

- Wait for gateway to release their A9LH solution in the coming weeks if you still want to use your .3DS roms. They do not work in CFW's, but you can convert the roms to CIA files and install them with FBI to your SD card so they can be launched from home menu.
- Yes, use JK's Save Manager to get your saves from your carts (might take a while depending on the number of games you have on your Red Card.)

How do I go about doing all of this? Sorry, don't have much, if any experience with CIA's and such. Thoughts and help appreciated again :)
Also, can cheats be used with CIA's? I liked that feature with Gateway.

You can update your Emunand to 11.0 and still use GW and BootNTR. (I use it myself)

No need for a9lh since you play mostly .3ds games (I assume) and you will end up having a lot of work for very little benefit over your current setup. Also there is a chance to brick your 3DS if you dont follow the a9lh guide VERY VERY closely. (of course a9lh does have GBA/DSi support which GW is still lacking)

So my suggestion: just update Emunand to 11.0 and keep everything as it is :-)

As for .3ds to .cia saves I just found the NTR Savemanager, which is very easy to use ( https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-savegame-manager-plugin-for-ntr-1-0-2-0.384865/ )

The benefit is getting rid of Gateway altogether and not being bound to a cart to play your games. What if you lost your gateway cart? Good luck getting your games/saves back. Not to mention, A9LH systems can boot under 10 seconds, and help prevent future bricks.

As I said, if you need live help, I, personally, and many other experienced users are on #3dshacks over at Rizon.

I agree, you basically are going to invest a hell of allot of time to get all your games installed back onto your unit with CIA's and then you will have to deal with CIA's exclusively moving forward (which it takes allot longer to install CIA's compared to drag and drop like you get with .3ds files)

The Hybrid solution is optimal, you install a9hl and CFW, then bolt on GW support. Then you get the best of both worlds.

I just converted all my N3DS XL's to booting GW direct and CFW, works really well. They all boot to GW mode in like 15 seconds.

Both Gateway and BootNTR work in EmuNAND FW 11.0? Someone on this thread said BootNTR does not work in EmuNAND FW 11.0... Can you confirm/clarify?

I just updated my Emunand to 11.0 and BootNTR (NTR ver 3.4) still works. I didnt do anything.

Can I use gateway on 11.0 sysnand?
I just upgraded to a9lh last night after hearing how Gateway looks to be locking ppl out, do I need to setup an emunand to allow the gw features or will it just patch sysnand when i boot gateway mode? (or will that mess things up)

I'm not sure if you're dumb or trolling.
Your argument can be applied to cfw too. It's not as bad with Gateway though. You can buy a new Gateway and get your saves back. Buying a new console won't do that with cia games.

When my o3ds bricked, I didn't have all my saves backed up, so when I got my new 3DS, I only had the saves I did back up, and the ones that were on my Gateway.
