What are the odds of getting Fusée Gelée working on a patched system in the near future?
Is anyone working on that, or is it a lost cause?

Future exploits are certainly possible, but I wouldn't hold your breath for something comparable to Fusée Gelée anytime soon. In other words, if you have a patched system, I'd recommend selling it and getting an unpatched system.

A NAND backup with Deja Vu will probably be possible.
