All right.
My PC (actually all the PCs in my house) doesn't support XP Mode.
Running VMWare Workstation 7 instead.
What fun things can I do with it?
I have the following so far:

-Play old games that don't work on Win7

I think epicelite loved to fire up his virtual PC, install 100000000x crap, sign up to as much spam as possible, send random emails to 'opt-out' people, talk to 'support staff' about how their spam wouldn't do shit to his actual PC, etc.

Playing "Lose/Lose" is definitely more fun on a virtual PC.

Obligatory XKCD link:

That over
games: 50/50 on this one.
Virtual machines have varying levels of emulation and the higher levels of emulation will take their toll on performance while others of the more "pass through" nature will fare better but will probably never reach "real" performance.

sandbox: got some virus ridden stuff no problem, want to try a new app without too much hassle and finishing what the installer started is the same idea. The also scales to operating systems if you want but why bother when liveCDs exist.

servers: this is the usual reason for playing such games. Makes life a bit easier than using one machine for all (even if you technically are using one machine for all) and also means "porting" a machine is somewhat easier as well.

re: spam.... sure it might be a machine that can vanish at your command but you are ultimately still on the same IP address and so it is no different than just using a proxy.
