FTP server help!!!!!!

I cant my server thing to work!!!!! I am using Serv-U but the DNS I assign it to when I go to is it like,
"Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at mikespace.serveftp.com

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."

I can access it in an FTP client... but i want to in Mozilla/IE

i've been using that! but I dont mean FTP addon. like u know how u can access FTP's by typing them in right... thats wut I want!!!!!!! just cant with my DNS name thing... should I give it a TinyurL and to my friends?

how do I give it HTML pages? or a completley free site (with out like www.freewbs.___.com thing) I just need an understandable tutorial!!!

you should just be able to type ftp://ftp.myserver.com, or whatever. i just tested it with ftp.kernel.org. you shouldn't have to even type the ftp://, but it wouldn't hurt to try it that way. if you can access it with an ftp client, firefox shouldn't have a problem. you may need to turn off "passive" ftp support if you're forwarding port 22 to your ftp server (should be set to "active"). i'm not sure where that is in firefox, but it's probably on the about:config page (just type "about:config" in the address bar). sorry i can't check for you right now.
