No, it was broken before I snapped it in half. I was just so aggravated that I had another headset that broke. I tried to fix it to no avail.
EDIT: I'm not the only one either. The wired headsets are always absolute garbage.

original M$ headset that was bundled with my elite .

These things are garbage. The new one that came with my console never worked, luckily I bought another that works every now and then.

You might want to either purchase a 3rd party one, keep better care of the first party ones, or just refrain from using them altogether. Really after the first time, it was your fault for continuing to buy the same product, knowing exactly what was going to happen.

I cant stand the normal headset. I got given a Turtle Beach headset and it is so much better. I dont use it for chat much but when I do, its a major improvement.

Get one of those PC headset to 360 controller adapters.
I got one and use it with my Sennheiser headset, and it's awesome.

or get a turtle beach since I think they work no adapter with the 360. But they're overpriced.
They're good, but you do pay for the name since they're pretty famous gaming headsets.

Turtle Beach headsets are pretty much top of the line just before getting Astros (I believe that's the brand) that comes with a sub woofer of all things. They are pretty spectacular headsets and work with both the 360 and PC, but cost about $60 or so.

Got a turtlebeach x11, and it's been wonderful so far. The only downside are the cables that you need to hook up. There are LOTS of them.
