If the steps in the link above does not help, are you using an older type of CFW like Luma3DS v7.0.5 [and older] + A9LH (arm9loaderhax)?

My freeshop updated to the newest version the other day, but I have not installed the newest firmware update, I'm still on 11.6 will my freeshop be messed up if I updated? Got Luna and bs9

You're good to go in updating to 11.7 . As far as anyone can tell, none of the hax's broke: Update 11.7 and Homebrew

The risk of getting banned by using CFW remains the same.

If you've been banned-free this far and hadn't done anything obvious like cheat in online games, played games before their official release, or use homebrew CIAs [this one is a toss up], you're fine in using freeShop.

If you want an anecdotal story for comfort, my N3DSXL was updated the second day 11.7 came out, and I have been using freeShop everyday, which is freeShop injected into eShop using GodMode9 script injection. If I was Nintendo, I would ban myself the first moment I knew actual me insulted my store front with a pretender app. Okay, that came out super confusing, but basically I'm not banned. Stick to using the freeShop.3dsx version through Homebrew Launcher if that's what you been using.
