Gaming Free / Pirateable multiplayer games

BEFORE YOU REPORT THIS POST NOTE THAT I AM NOT ASKING FOR LINKS TO WAREZ

OK, so I'm looking for some free or pirateable PC games that are playable in multiplayer. Any game really, so long as it actually has people playing it (not just 2/3 players).
I don't mind what genre but NOT mmorpgs (unless there is NOTHING in the game you can pay for) and I prefer puzzle or FPSs.

Combat Arms and Halo 1. In the case of Halo 1, you can play cracked versions online as long as there isn't another person using the same CD key, so try to find a CD key from an obscure site, the less common it is the more servers you can join.
EDIT: Third MW2. And MW1 for that matter.

CoD MW 2 is by far the best FPS I've ever played. Completely free, with mod support.
Just Google Alteriwnet and you'll find it. Also read up on it here

I downloaded the game and went online

. Simple

But seriously I've tried it once and it works(also tried with Crysis).

Isn't it the free online community way to play Cod games?

AlterOps is the same thing like AlterIWNet, so the original game with dedicated servers, admin rights, votekick, mods, ....
It's in Beta now, and the definitive version can be released anytime.
