Hacking Forwarders in vwii not working for me

I have USB Loader GX working thanks to all the great work of others on this forum, BUT when I try to launch from the wii menu instead of HBC (via either the full install channel or the forwarder directly in the wad folder in the all-in-one installer), I just get a black screen, and have to power cycle the system. The same is true for wiiflow: I can load it from HBC, but the forwarder just dumps me in a black screen forever. Any ideas? Happy to post additional info if needed.

The forwarder channel probably needs the vWii AHBPROT patches applied to work properly.
